(Thanks, Psychophan7.) Last night, they visited Halo 3 Forum, and put up the same post - you'd think, if you never saw the HIH post, that it was a brand-new video. Well, I guess the high-res download, originally hosted at Mythica, needed a new home, and now it has one - at FileFront - so that's a good thing... and it's a pretty cool vid in any case, so if you haven't seen it, you should go watch. Some amazing jumps, I thought. (The Rat's Nest section is a powerful argument for the death barriers Bungie put everywhere - these guys prove that without them, you can pretty much go anywhere, and do it in Matchmaking, which is not really so much fun for non-jumpers.) One of these days, I gotta try that Pit jump to get into the spawn section above the base... thanks to RVideo for noticing the H3F post. (Louis Wu 13:17:19 UTC)

May 4, 2008 Link to this post Epic Kill-Steal Magni Harvald noticed a pretty funny vid on YouTube - guy snipes a fusion core (through another target, actually), which slams an opponent into a wall, killing him with a splatter kill... milliseconds before he would have died from a melee attack in the back. Definitely an epic kill-steal! Update: Blackstar submitted a custom medal for this one - have you been Rico-stealed? (Louis Wu 14:46:00 UTC)

Smooth Few Films hasn't created a lot of Halo machinima - but everything they've put out has been of outstanding quality (check our news for details), and they're back with a new piece that rocks. The GunStop Way takes aim at sleazy videogame sales tactics, using sharp humor, polished effects, and good acting. Don't miss this one! (Louis Wu 16:51:49 UTC)

Z let us know that there are a couple of massive montages over at Halo3Forum.com - Calamity 2 from TM22, ST68, iDrako, and Kraynium - almost 18 minutes long, 327 mb, plus a blooper reel (which I didn't get at all; they didn't look like bloopers to me, for the most part) and Phurion and Fluxy's DualTage - 197 mb, 8 minutes, very nice editing. For those of you who like montages - that's a half-hour's worth of new content! (Louis Wu 16:57:15 UTC)

April 26, 2008 Link to this post Some Cutscene-based Vids for You
Cortana4ever put together a few videos using cutscenes and music - it's an interesting collection. The last one, especially, is pretty evocative. Just as a point of interest - I nearly passed these by completely. Cortana4ever posted them in our forum with a description that basically said 'these are just some things I whipped out in a few minutes, I was bored, they're nothing special.' When someone tells me that their work is not worth much, I'll take them at their word - my time is short, and having someone self-regulate what I have to look at is helpful. If there hadn't been forum regulars responding with words of praise, this would never have made the front page, because I never would have seen the vids. Keep that in mind if you're trying to get people to look at your creations... (Louis Wu 15:19:14 UTC)
