G4 Halo Coverage

Crazy Kills and Spills
Some fun vid action on Bungie's Comm Chatter today
- How to Avoid Being Assasinated [sic] is really just a bunch of assassination clips. (I suppose if you don't do what the dead guys in the vid did, you'll have a better chance of not being assassinated.)
- Skylarking is a Halo CE Trick Jumping vid (just 3 minutes) - old school fun!
- Anoj has posted his Top 10 Halo Reach Beta Amazing Kills, Episode 1 - quality's a bit low, but the clips are pretty nice.
- Ghosts of the Beta, Carnage and Beauty is a montage from Stalid Autumn - the first half is a video showing off the gorgeous scenery of the Reach maps we have now, while the second half is gameplay.

IGN Top Kills of the Week - May 12
BuzzJuice noticed that the latest IGN Top Beta Kills for the Week is live. I was a little disappointed to see that 20% of these were already posted in a roundup on Bungie.net (with so many thousand clips being rendered, couldn't they find 10 that hadn't been posted on the highest-traffic Halo site on the net?), but they're still fun to watch. - Majority put together a Halo Reach Beta montage - lots of power weapons, lots of multikills.
- KnightxofxLight wanted to show off the beauty of the Reach pistol - it's just a minitage, but it does a great job of showing how timing and distance are related.

The Multiplayer Experience
SpartanT77 sent us a link to 'The Multiplayer Experience', a video set to Princeton's 'LvUrFR3NZ' - it's a look at how the experience actually works for many of us. Slushy's whipped up a new Halo 3 montage - it's called 'Unwind', and you can stream it on YouTube, or download the 100 mb HD .wmv from FileFront. Not your typical montage - it's more about the grace of the game than it is about any one player. Just two and a half minutes... check it out!

Cr1TiKal Plays Reach
A few folks have pointed out videos from Cr1TiKal - he makes a lot of MW2 vids, but he's got some Reach vids that are worth watching, too. They're funny (though not particularly safe for work, if your boss doesn't like hearing swearing coming out of your speakers) - check out Halo Reach Fun Tactics - Launch, to learn some cool techniques with the 'Pro Pipe' (otherwise known as the Grenade Launcher), and laugh at the hilarious descriptions of the action in his Halo Reach Invasion Gameplay and Commentary. There are others, too - check his playlist. Good times.

RVideo pointed out a Reach Beta Jumptage called 'None of the Above' - it shows off some pretty cool jumps that you can do in Matchmaking, with some practice. Some seem just for show, others have serious tactical value.

IGN jumps on the Reach train
Minime637 found a couple of videos at IGN devoted to Reach, recently: the first one is a look at how Reach differs from Halo 3, while the second one is more of a comedy, and takes a look at how MC reacts to the Activision news. Go watch 'em!

Grind Rider - Released
It's a little later than it was supposed to be, but harabek tells us that Grind Rider, a full-length machinima western, is now available to watch on YouTube. It's nine segments long - you can see them all in the Uploads section of ironspam's channel. All told, it's about an hour (75 minutes are what the segments add up to, but I'd guess this counts duplicated credits). If you've got the time, give it a look!

Thursday Video Roundup

- IGN's got another Top 10 Halo Reach Kills vid up for the week of May 4 - good assassinations, some fun moments. (They seem to have snagged a number of the clips Bungie's already highlighted on Comm Chatter...)
- Mr Sark and the Dead Pixel team up again for a new episode of Headshot, focusing on the Halo Reach Beta. These guys are always worth a look...
