Double Team on Construct, a vid
Z pointed out a Gameplay vid by ThaggleS - Double Team on Construct. I'm having trouble understanding the allure of films like this now - unless it's for people without Halo 3 (or without Live), because an uploaded Saved Film would show you exactly the same gameplay - and more - for a much smaller download. Last Man Standing - Machinima Music Video
B!OHAZARD announced a new vid by Biohazard Producitons - it's called Last Man Standing, and it shows a fun mongoose race on Sandtrap. He's got some comments about the film itself in the post - and I made some in a followup post. Go read - and watch.

Beowulf - in Halo 3

Halo 3 on Canadian TV
Rock Opera Jr points out that a clip from Space's Hypaspace Weekly show in Canada, involving a quick Halo 3 match on Last Resort, is now online at the Spacecast website. The clip shows a single round (with one offense and one defense for each team) of Assault - with great angles and nice use of Saved Films. Dust to Dust Trailer
Yesterday, siliconmaster482 stopped by our forum to point out a machinima project being built in 3ds max - it's called Dust to Dust, and they've released a trailer. I liked it; it's quite simple, but the work is quite good. We're helping with hosting - there are three WMP9 versions listed in his forum post, and we're mirroring those... plus we've got three corresponding QuickTime versions.

Combat Part 2 - now on Marketplace
The third Neill Blomkamp short, Combat Part 2, is now available on Xbox Live Marketplace in both SD and HD formats. The HD version (154 mb) is amazing. Thanks to A B for the heads-up (who also noticed that the second short is NOT available on Marketplace, yet). Update: apparently lots of people are having trouble FINDING this short; from the Marketplace blade, start with 'Media and Entertainment', and then choose 'Clips'. Blomkamp's piece, all together
EvanVolm wrote to point out that he'd combined all three Neill Blomkamp Halo shorts into a single piece, which is available on YouTube. I suppose if you haven't seen them all, this isn't a bad way to take them in. (Another option is FrAnK SiXeR's Halo Tribute, which is higher-resolution than the YouTube flick; it contains the two Combat shorts (not the E3 one), and also contains a bunch of Halo 3 footage (including most of the final cutscene, so clearly this one's as spoiler-rich as they come).)

3Suns posted a link to an AWESOME stick by BlackShadowMist over at MLGPro.com - nobody's saying it was planned, but because of Saved Films, you get the chance to WATCH it, which is pretty cool. Halo 3: Sci vs Fi
Last week, The SciFi channel showed a special they called 'Halo 3: Sci vs Fi'. It doesn't seem to be anywhere on their schedule any more - but someone's uploaded a streaming version to the MLG Gameroom. It's an interesting 20 documentary of Halo 3, with interviews with lots of Bungie employees and celebrities.

We've put up local mirrors of the WMP9 and QuickTime hi-res versions, because they're worried about Filefront links, and because this is a decent series. Halo 3 Launch Documentary
Mat Galvin sent us links to a five-part video documenting the Halo 3 launch in Universal City, Hollywood. It includes interviews with Bungie's Vic DeLeon, Allen Murray, and Jonty Barnes, comments from tons of fans, some truly bizarre moments. Each piece is about 4 minutes long - go watch 'em in order.

Halo 3 Content Floods Live Marketplace
A bucketful of Halo 3 content made its way onto Xbox Live Marketplace today. First, Morpheus pointed out a Campaign demonstration video, which can be found in the Game Videos category (check new arrivals). Weighing in at 224 megs, Jonty Barnes and Jay Weinland demonstrate one of the large battles from the game. Next, the exclusive content for Gold members we mentioned a few days ago is now up. Look for the "Unite to Fight" ad on either the Marketplace or Xbox Live blades and download a theme, gamerpic and two videos. The first is called "Inside Bungie: Halo 3 - The Story", and the second "Inside Bungie: Halo 3 - New Features", clocking in at 275 and 238 megs, respectively. As the titles imply, they feature folks from Bungie discussing what players can expect out of the story, as well as an overview of some of the new features in Halo 3. (GhaleonEB 06:18:51 UTC)
