March 16, 2007 Link to this post Final Boss Give Amateurs a Taste Final Boss, one of the best teams on the Halo pro circuit, participated in a tournament in Austin, and then gave local fans (who hadn't been playing in the tournament) a chance to see what it's like to play a top pro team. Results were predictable... but their opponents had a good time nonetheless. Nice! Go read about it in the Cleburne Times-Review. (Louis Wu 13:12:28 UTC)

(As usual, if you have any trouble with reading it at Bungie.net, it's available in our Weekly Update Archive.) Update: the promised graphics have been added - thanks, GhaleonEB. February 15, 2007 Link to this post MS GM Says Really Odd Things to GI Phil Spencer talked to Game Informer recently, and the Halo 3 beta came up. (Surprise, surprise.) He states that the number of beta participants will 'grow over time': It will scale over time and we need thousands of people from all around the world playing to make sure that all the systems are in place. In the end hundreds of thousands of people playing to make sure we're ready to go live. He also offers some bizarre suggestions about how they picked Crackdown to deliver the beta invite (basically, he says they wanted a game nobody was going to buy, so that they could "throttle how many people would get on"). Go read for yourself. (Louis Wu 17:56:26 UTC)
