Diaper-Bulging Pant-Fillers!
The Bungie Weekly Update can be found over in Bungie's own Underground forum. The Ghost stuff sounds especially tasty. Go read! (Frankie's artwork is here, in case it's not yet fixed by the time you read this.) (mnemesis 00:05:20 UTC)

Nightmare Easter Update
Whoa - bunch of new stuff at Nightmare Armor... Easter Egg helmets (hehe), and some pics of NEW work; a Grunt helmet? I want, I want! (Also, a very nice pair of shots of the Rocket Launcher. Coming along!) Thanks to {SS}Zag1 for the heads-up. Update: AAAA, I'm jealous. Dolbex visited the Nightmare Armor guys this weekend, and just posted a writeup of that visit (complete with some awesome pics) on his Been Mawed site. Go read it - and check out some really unique images! (Louis Wu 17:40:01 UTC)

List. LONG List. Shaken, not stirred.
Looks like a big collection of Fan Fiction, doesn't it? If Mark Lieberg actually compacted some of his work, it would only be 21. Something to think about...

Now go read! (Louis Wu 14:54:20 UTC)

Forerunners bigwigs interviewed at the Junkyard
Steve Campbell and Tony 'Octanus' Poitra are the latest Halo-related additions to the Junkyard's Spotlight collection. Steve brings his... interesting view of reality to his reminiscences of the early days in the Bungie community. Go read 'em both! Thanks to Mhaddy for the heads-up. (Louis Wu 12:48:04 UTC)

Getchyer Red-Hot Story Nuggets Here...
So, while I was out enjoying my family last night, mnemesis was updating the front page... but he didn't stop there; he went a little nuts with the Halo Story Page mailbag. For a while, Finn has been carrying the ball... but it looks like a lateral pass took place somewhere without anyone noticing. Go read! (Louis Wu 10:04:52 UTC)

Now that the Xbox is down to $149...
In case you have a boatload of cash sitting around, and you're wondering how to make your Halo playing experience more gratifying... Frankie has written up a nice article over at Bungie.net called 'Halo Home Theater', running down some of the nicer toys you can buy for improving your audio-visual intake. Go read it! Weekly WHAT?
Hehe - isn't it always that way? This week, the Bungie Weekly Update is right here at HBO... and I'm too busy playing Death Island CTF on Homelan_HBO_East to get it posted. OUCH! Go read it - it's full of tasty morsels about dual needlers, glass shaders on the Pelican, and flank-forcing. Rockin'! (Louis Wu 01:26:54 UTC)

Kitty Treats for Schrödinger's Cat
This week's Bungie Update was posted on our very own forum; Frankie probably needs to get a new naming scheme for his pictures, so they don't leak a couple of hours early, but other than that, it's a rockin' message. Details about Xbox Live, new artwork, weapons, maps, marketing stuff... there's something for everyone. Go read! (Louis Wu 01:09:42 UTC)

Having Fun with the Chaingun
Today's REAL Bungie Weekly Update is over at TeamXbox - and it's a doozy. Halo 2 PIC! Okay... it's just a prototype of the Joyride action figure... but it's way cool-looking. There's also lots of info about the week's progress; ambient life, new control schemes, lightmaps, you name it. Go read! (Louis Wu 01:32:08 UTC)

Fake Updates Aren't Much Fun
Whoa. WAY ahead of schedule, Frankie has posted this week's Bungie Update over at the IGN forums. Info on the upcoming web overhaul, voice chat, new multiplayer options, and (w00t!) final Halo 2 box art - what more do you want? Go read. (Thanks for the heads-up, Obie!) Update: I should have known it was posted too early - sorry, folks, this was a fake. Bad news for everyone, now - folks are gonna be suspicious of EVERY update from here on in. She Is In This Strip
Today's One One Se7en was supposed to be yesterday's One One Se7en - after all, it's a Holiday strip. Stuntmutt didn't count on my overwhelming incompetence, however; I think MC's rubbing off on me. Anyway, go read it. It's nice when people look on the bright side. (Louis Wu 02:34:00 UTC)

Project Halo talks to Fropco
Halo.Fropco has interviewed the Project Halo: Webwar Evolved team about their work in progress. The interview itself is beefier than the one put up at the Junkyard last week; more info, pretty pictures. If you're curious about where these guys are going, and how they plan to get there... go read this! (Louis Wu 20:07:06 UTC)

POOPS, cutscenes, and schwag, oh my!
A little late for some forumgoers... but Frankie's Weekly Update has been posted; you can find it over on the Battleground: Halo forum. This one's got me pretty stoked - lots and lots of solid progress info. Good stuff on AI, animation, sound design... the works. Go read it! (Louis Wu 00:17:41 UTC)

Writing - but less
I can't explain it... but maybe it's not a bad thing. Fan Fiction entries today are only 7 (for a 2-day stretch).

Go read 'em! (Louis Wu 11:05:03 UTC)

A Fairy of Peanut-flavored Light
This week's Bungie Weekly Update went to Subnova.com. Once again, Frankie favors us with his awesome artwork... but the meat is in the text. Artwork, new maps, AI improvements... it's all there. Go read. (Thanks to 3of9 for the heads-up.) (Louis Wu 19:01:34 UTC)

Nylund in the Spotlight
Over at Xbox.com, Marty Greene has written up a short interview with Eric Nylund, focusing on the author's experience writing his two Halo novels, as well as a look at why he declined to write the middle book. Fans will be happy to know that he reads the forums to find out what people think of his work (though I must say he's smart enough not to actually POST on any, to the best of my knowledge ;) ), and he hasn't ruled out the possibility of a fourth novel. (He didn't promise anything, either, so try not to put words into his mouth.) Go read it! (Credit goes to someone who emailed us as 'Eric Nylund', though the email address itself would suggest a different name...) (Louis Wu 18:08:13 UTC)

Fan Fiction again
The Fan Fiction section was offline for a bit; folks seemed to stop writing, because even now, after it's been back up for a couple of days, there are only 11 pieces for posting:

Go read 'em... I'm sure there'll be more tomorrow. (Louis Wu 14:53:48 UTC)

Lorraine McLees shares secrets of creation
Whoa - take the night off, miss some pretty big stuff. SketchFactor interviewed Lorraine McLees over at Bungie.net - and if the timestamp is to be believed, it happened on MONDAY NIGHT! And it wasn't until yesterday that anybody on our forum noticed this. (Thanks, Scimitarex.) It's a pretty specific interview; Lorraine discusses what's involved in creating Cover/Box art. As someone who's never been on the inside of this industry, it's fascinating to hear the process of how an image is created; what elements are needed, and what they should convey. Go read it. It's fun. (Louis Wu 16:41:04 UTC)

Peter Tamte talks about Piracy
A couple of days ago, the Mac version of Halo was updated to 1.03, allowing Mac users to play with their PC brethren. The update also added a copy-protection scheme that required that the CD be in the machine in order to play Halo - a major change from the previous version. This change has caused quite a stir in the Mac community... with most people expressing displeasure. Yesterday, Inside Mac Games interviewed Peter Tamte, head of MacSoft, about why this change was made. If you're a disgruntled Mac user... go read this. I was amazed by this snippet:

[...] we have physically tracked more units of Halo being stolen on the Internet than have been sold through stores so far.

Ouch! (Louis Wu 15:42:34 UTC)

Of lightsabers, and snakes
And so it starts. Frankie has posted the very first Halo 2 Weekly Update on our forum - it's a little light on content, but it's HEAVY on attitude, and the artwork has to be seen to be believed. That man is a future Van Gogh. (Well, maybe just the ear part. Or the insanity thing.) Go read it... and look forward to this being a weekly event (though not always here; as he makes clear in his Bungie.net writeup, these (as was true with the Halo 1 Updates, back in the day) will be spread around to a collection of websites, to better acquaint the average Halo fan with the full Halo community. (Louis Wu 00:01:14 UTC)

Bungie welcomes Frank O'Connor, former Executive Editor for the Official Xbox Magazine, as its newest member of the Community team - and kicks it all off with an interview. Go read about the guy who's gonna be bringing you juicy Halo 2 tidbits in the coming months! (Louis Wu 00:28:29 UTC)
