In Like a Lion
The Halo Bulletin is online for this week - and it's a doozy. The appetizer is Tweets of how folks would wake up the Master Chief, but the entree is the March Matchmaking Playlist Update. There are a bunch of changes, but the two biggies are that there will be two 4v4 Slayer lists, one WITH the TU gametypes, one WITHOUT... and that Bleedthrough is removed from TU gametypes. There's quite a bit more... but you'll have to go read it yourself. (You can do that in our Halo Bulletin Archive, if some lighter-weight HTML suits you.) (Louis Wu 18:40:40 UTC)

Funding the Arts - in a really cool way
OboeCrazy stopped in to announce a new Kickstarter program; she'd love to make Oboe music in cool places (especially married to videogames, Halo in particular), but needs your help to afford equipment and travel expenses! Go read the page for full details - and remember, like any Kickstarter project, she only gets funded if her pledge level reaches her goal. You can get her there! (Louis Wu 12:48:11 UTC)

February's Fan Fiction
It's been a long time since we did a Fan Fiction update - life in February has been pretty crazy here at HBO. We're back, though, and there are two new pieces, submitted late last month by Travis Lally, in the collection. Go read! (Louis Wu 20:34:31 UTC)

Bungie Mail Sack 4.0
Last week, Bungie posted another installment of their Mail Sack - it's a fantastic read. Lots of info, including questions about what happens after the handoff on March 31. There is much more than that, though - there's even a map of the studio! Go read it, if you haven't already. (If you have, go read it again.) (Louis Wu 15:34:01 UTC)

Of Wings and Popcorn
The latest Halo Bulletin is up - and it takes the recent Super Bowl as a metaphor for Halo's current place in your life. We're at halftime, folks. (I'm not sure whether that means that we're getting ready to gear up again after a quiet time... or if they're subtly telling us that Halo's got another 10 years left in it.) There's some stuff about stats (it's unclear whether the voices of those who worry about the impending shutdown of Bungie.net's Halo stats have been heard), some stuff about credits you can earn, some info from Frankie about his activities these past few weeks, and some questions from fans. Go read! (It's in our Halo Bulletin Archive, too, if you'd rather read it there.) (Louis Wu 02:51:43 UTC)

What is Halo - to you?
Leviathan stopped by in the early-morning hours to start one of those threads that just makes me happy. He wanted to know: What is "Halo"? When I first started reading, I worried that there would be a lot of arguing about TUs and Assault Rifles... but there doesn't seem to be much, if any, of that. Instead, it's all about what brings people back, day after day, week after week, year after year. It's uplifting. Go read - and contribute! (Louis Wu 17:55:30 UTC)

Halo Bulletin: 25 Jan 2012
The latest Halo Bulletin went live on Waypoint last night (thanks, Grim!) - lots of good stuff, including Seattle reactions to the recent snow, a custom challenge that pays a LOT, info about Halo motion comics coming to the Zune marketplace, tidbits from the Halo 4 team, community questions, and a new fun-themed image. Go read! (It's local, as well, if you'd rather.) (Louis Wu 12:50:50 UTC)

The Pentathlon Awaits
The Halo content is so slim as to be invisible (it consists of a couple of video screens in a single photo), but the Bungie Pentathlon is an annual event of great importance to Bungie employees (and Bungie fans) - and we're pretty big Bungie fans here, so we're gonna tell you about the latest article on Bungie.net. Deej has written up a nice summary of this year's event (which takes place tomorrow), including a mini-interview with Dave Dunn. For the first time in a really long time, there are no Halo games at all in the lineup. Wonga! We'll still be roothing for the Grizzled Ancients, though, cause old people have to stick together. Go read about it! (Louis Wu 17:46:30 UTC)

Pungent Traces of Methane
DeeJ has posted a new mailbag over at Bungie.net - the Halo-specific content is very, very light, but any window into the dark and mysterious castle that is Bungie (at the moment) is welcome! Go read. (Louis Wu 20:10:35 UTC)

Bulletinizing Halo development, one week at a time
This week's Halo Bulletin went up earlier this afternoon at Halo Waypoint - a little bit later than usual. (It didn't make it into our Halo Bulletin Archive until just now - still more delay. Sorry!) Coverage of Greg Bear's recent book tour, a nice Super Jackpot available in Matchmaking, some behind-teh-scenes stuff from the Halo 4 team, and fan questions make up the bulk of the content. Go read! Thanks, JDQuackers. (Louis Wu 22:46:53 UTC)

The Bungie Mail Sack 1.0
Yesterday, DeeJ posted The Bungie Mail Sack 1.0 - he's not nearly as rude as the Webmaster was, but some of his answers actually have value, so it's all good. Go read about everything from breaking into the industry to 'normal days at Bungie' (heh, as if) to DeeJ's favorite Halo campaign! Great read. (Louis Wu 19:42:18 UTC)

pete_the_duck is sad - there haven't been very many auditions yet for his Last Forger Standing competition. Remember - you don't need to be a master forger to participate! Go read his note, and add your own content! (Louis Wu 16:53:33 UTC)

DeeJ wants to give you free stuff. You like free stuff, right? Go read his new post at Bungie.net, then jump over to Bungie's Facebook page and enter the competition to win Crimson: Steam Pirates for iPhone. How piratey can you make our favorite Gunslinger? Halcylon's example pic is just plain delicious. (Louis Wu 20:05:32 UTC)
