I need a spike
AfroRyan noticed an homage to Halo in the game 1001 Spikes - go read his description for details (along with a couple of video links!). Love the audio. (Louis Wu 22:54:33 UTC)

This week in Halo
This week's Halo Bulletin, released yesterday, contains some fun stuff: controller settings for The Master Chief Collection, an update for Halo 4 matchmaking, an update on our own Guilt o' Lantern contest (have you submitted your carving yet? WHY NOT?) and more story goodies from GrimBrother One. (And some nice screenshots.) Go read it - either at the newly revamped Halo Waypoint, or right here in our own Halo Bulletin Archive. (Apologies for the formatting - it'll get better over time.) (Louis Wu 22:27:35 UTC)

It's fall in Halo-land
This week's Halo Bulletin contains some nice tidbits: there's a Twitter giveaway, some great story background from (what used to be our own) GrimBrother One, a small FAQ focused on the copy of Halo CE that will appear in the Master Chief Collection next month, and some cool Autumn-themed screenshots. Go read! (As always, there's a copy in our Halo Bulletin Archive. Ours even has large versions of the screenshots.) On our forum, Grizzlei had some comments about this week's content - join the conversation! (Louis Wu 22:56:45 UTC)

It's all about the Dance
Oh, my goodness - we did it again! This has been a crazy week; here's hoping it's unique. Catch-up time: let's start with a really fantastic article which delineates just what's so cool about Silent Cartographer, and how that applies to the rest of Halo. Andre Dunn was the first to tell us about it, and Kermit kicked off a forum thread which spawned a few great comments. Go read! (Louis Wu 01:33:14 UTC)

The details are in the armor...
...or is it armour? Anyway, MoaHerder from HaloArchives posted an analysis of the Halo 5 beta trailer that points out some interesting things that I completely missed, doh! The most interesting part of the analysis is that MoaHerder highlights that Nihilus Shadow found that one Spartan models has 104 written in braille on the chest plate. It might just be a fun little easter egg, or it might have bigger implications in terms of who we can expect to see in Halo 5. Thanks to zofinda for pointing this out - go read! Is another Halo title in the offing?
Grizzlei pointed out a pair of articles (VideoGamer.com and Yahoo) that look at a Microsoft job listing (already filled at this point), and speculate about what it means for the Halo franchise. Go read, and then toss in your own two cents! (Louis Wu 19:55:13 UTC)

Whoa. Hay.
One of the things I miss about the very early days of our forum was the rampant speculation - the crack pipe was pulled out, and outrageous (but sometimes spot-on) ideas were put forth. Grizzlei did some intriguing conjecturing last week, in which the Halo titles were tied to a Biblical concept, with some interesting ideas sprouting from the merger. Go read her first post (and the followup, that contained the part that got cut off when she posted too quickly). Right or wrong, it's the wild speculation that's fun. Go enjoy! Oops, I did it again!
You never thought you'd have to be reminded of Britney Spears again, did you? Hah. Another Wednesday came and went without our acknowledgement of the Halo Bulletin - I blame the flood we had yesterday (don't you love it when plumbing goes bad?), but really I have no excuse. You should go read it - it contains info on the newest Halo: Escalation issue, the Minecraft Halo mashup we mentioned last week, Beyond Entertainment's Forge Idol tournament, a super-cool Mammoth from pete_the_duck, and some awesome KotH screenshots. (You can read it in our Halo Bulletin Archive, if you don't want your IP address showing up two days late in Waypoint's logs.) (Louis Wu 16:37:35 UTC)

I'm a $10 typo
I nearly forgot to point out the latest Community Member Spotlight over at Halo Waypoint - which would be a shame, because it's shining on our boy wonder mastrbiggy. He's so dreamy I can almost forgive all the mean things he says about me. (Almost.) Go read it. (Louis Wu 23:38:43 UTC)

Shoulda Snarled Back
343 Industries and Dark Horse Comics have just released Issue #5 of Halo: Escalation. Some things are really starting to heat up in the Halo Universe! Some key questions answered, and even more raised. If you are still on the fence, then get down, it's dangerous. Also, you can check out a couple of previews from Waypoint and from Dark Horse.
