Respect Your Roots, Chapter 1
Goosechecka sent word that Grifball Hub is putting together a series that covers the history of Grifball - the first chapter went live yesterday. Respect Your Roots looks to be a pretty involved look at each season of the sport (there are 19 now), and they'll be covering one per week until they're done! The Return of Master Chief

Professor Plum Avoids the Timmies
DHalo dug up a pretty interesting interview with Mrs Doublefire, over at 2old2play - this was published last September, but it's the first I'm hearing about it. Mrs Doublefire is a name that might be familiar to some - he was a major player in the Halo PC building community, and later worked for Bungie as an environment artist on Halo 3 and Reach. It's a fascinating discussion explaining how he got hired (through a contract agency), how Halo 3 would have been different without him, and more. (Did you know that Corvette was the geometry they used to make the 'Deliver Hope' trailer? I can see it now, but I certainly didn't know it before.) Go read! (Louis Wu 18:56:50 UTC)

Wait - I'm still wearing my pants?
Last night the Bungie Weekly Update went up (as it does most Fridays) - it's full of sad news. This is the last Weekly Update in May, for example. And Bungie will NOT officially have a presence at E3. (That one threw ME for a loop.) But it does have lots of cool Jetpacking pictures, and comforting news that Bungie.net stats aren't going anywhere anytime soon, and some very cool Stephen Colbert-based artwork. And news about a 9,000 Super Jackpot available in Big Team Battle this weekend. And a Blame Stosh that will make you bang your head against the desk. Go read it all! Can a chainsaw cut through Spartan armor?
Hitmonchan, just before heading out for a weekend of debauchery and pantsless reveling, stopped into our forum with word of an interesting aside in an interview with Epic's Cliffy B. Apparently, the Master Chief COULD have been in Gears 3, but the idea was nixed by Microsoft because Gears is a bit too... bloody. Go read Cliffy's description of what might have been! The Best Games Of 2000 To 2009: Halo
Last week, Edge began a series wherein they reminisce about their favorite games of the last decade. They started with Half-Life 2, followed a few days later with Resident Evil 4, and today focused on Halo. Comm Chatter Vids and News

Someone should get that man a website
Hitmonchan continues to scour the internet for interesting Halo content - there's no way I'm gonna complain, because he's making my job quite a bit easier. Here's a roundup of the goodies he found last night:
- Someone whipped up a Noble Team logo in Minecraft. Nicely done!
- If you didn't make it to MLG Dallas, there's a nice collection of photos on Flickr. (If you're just interested in the ones tagged Reach, those are here.)
- Halo Waypoint denizen Noble29 played Ashes, from Halo: Reach's official soundtrack, on piano. Wow. Really great.
- Two new vids from the MachinimaRespawn crew - The Dead Pixel saves the day for a frustrated Firefighter, and Mr Sark helps out when Campaign partners are hard to find. Funny stuff.
- IGN's posted their Top 10 Kills for 04.07.11 - Angry Hogs made me laugh. So did Windshield Wiper. (Hitmonchan doesn't like IGN's video player, so he linked to the DailyMotion mirror.)
- Away From Keyboard has written up an article explaining why Halo: Reach is the worst multiplayer experience in the series. I didn't get that far into it; his #1 complaint was present in Halo 2 and Halo 3, as well, and his #2 complaint says RIGHT IN THE DESCRIPTION that Reach is actually better than Halo 3. But if you're unhappy with Reach, go read this and commiserate.
- A video game company in Franklin, TN (just south of Nashville) is hosting a 1-day video game convention tomorrow - and there'll be a 4v4 Reach tourney to play in.
