Joypad Halo review posted
Another shout-out to genohunter - he's dropped off a pretty positive 6-page Halo review from the January 2002 issue of Joypad, a French Console mag. Yes, it's in French. Check it out in our (soon to be finished... hopefully) Press Scans section. (Okay, it's true - it's the only article in the new format. They're coming - really!) (Louis Wu 23:02:16 UTC)

Story Speculation Rampant
For those who haven't noticed, the Halo Story page has finally kicked into high gear. (Blame me - they were waiting on some scripting work.) The submissions have been piling up,but they're beginning to pare down that backlog! Check it out, and add your own speculation! (Louis Wu 22:42:40 UTC)

Update: Geez, guess I should read ALL my mail. The Halo Music Video released yesterday can now be found on this Hotline server - if the other mirrors are not giving you joy, try this one! FAQ overhauled
Thanks to Mark Levin, who's overhauled our FAQ - there are still a few questions to add, but the info, by and large, is very up-to-date. You'll also find that there's quite a difference between the spoiler and non-spoiler versions of the FAQ - for those who haven't played Halo, and want to experience it without the taint of knowing what's coming, the FAQ contains general information, but nothing that will ruin the game for you. For those who've already played through Halo, there's quite a bit more info; gameplay tips, extra info, and so on. Check it out! (Louis Wu 08:10:09 UTC)

A grim future, indeed...
Tom Murphy sends in the first installment of his new series, 'Casualties of War'. So far, it has nothing to do with Halo... but we'll cut him a little slack. Check it out in our Fan Fiction section! (Louis Wu 02:53:37 UTC)

Video Banshee Tutorial posted
Mark Levin has created a 7 MB, 90 second video showing multiple locations for shooting down that first Banshee on Assault on the Control Room - getting hold of this will allow you to explore the level without having to deal with any enemies. Check it out in our Tips and Tricks section. Nice work! (Louis Wu 18:05:18 UTC)

How good are your eyes?
To atone for the sin of bad imagery, we've added another easter egg to the page - this one can be found at the start of multiplay. Check it out on the Halo Easter Egg page! Thanks to Allenthar for this submission. (Louis Wu 16:55:46 UTC)

More Fan Fiction - incoming!
Another chapter of 'Halo: A Strange Tale' has come in - Part 3 does some pretty heavy Marathon/Halo tying... check it out in our Fan Fiction section. (While it's fantastic that authors have a universal feedback device in Vector40, it would be nice if others who read the stories dropped off their comments, as well...) (Louis Wu 22:13:48 UTC)

Halo Symbology, on a platter
Wow. Over the past couple of years, there have been a number of posts concerning the various symbols visible in Halo (and a theory or two)... but never have they all been put together in so pretty a format as Team 7HR33 has done. Check it out! (We'll be adding this to the Halo Story page in the near future, hopefully.) Speculation as to meaning may begin! (Warning: these could be considered spoilers, to some.) Halo: A Strange Tale, Part 2 enters our Fan Fiction collection - and aside from some spelling anomalies, it seems to want to tie Marathon into Halo a tad more tightly. Check it out. (Louis Wu 08:27:41 UTC)

Hot pink plasma shot out of the enemy turret guns and flung through space barely missing one the fighter ships. Two more fighter ships appeared around the side of the Covenant War Cruiser and commenced firing at the guns.

Starhammer series corrections
Argh! Bravehamster =PN= writes to correct this morning's info from Jon Chang - Starhammer IS part of a trilogy by Chris Rowley... but not the one we thought.

It actually looks like Starhammer is part of a trilogy, but it's not book 3, it's book 1. It's called the Vang series. Check it out here: http://www.scifan.com/series/series.asp?SR_seriesid=947 The other two books you named are actually part of a different series by the same author, the Fenrile series. http://www.scifan.com/series/series.asp?SR_seriesid=946Ê. Hope nobody ordered all 3 books expecting to have a complete series ;0

Methinks Chris Rowley is gonna be selling a lot more books than he expected today... (Louis Wu 18:32:30 UTC)

ActionTrip reviews Halo
ActionTrip has reviewed Halo - 'A HALO review from a PC gamer's perspective' - and though they spend well over half the review whining about how Halo isn't really a console title (and the Xbox is really a mini-PC in disguise), and how they HAVE to take points off because "MS ruined some of the fun by making it an Xbox title"... they STILL gave it a 91%. If you're willing to put up with the constant whining (I thought he had it out if his system after he spent the first 25% of the review on it, but it came back well before the end), go check it out. We've added it to our Reviews section. (Thanks to Harry Al-Shakarchi for the heads-up.) (Louis Wu 14:30:37 UTC)
