Goodies via the Bungie Blog:
- 'First Contact' is a Halo machinima with some great graphics and a taut story. The date work could use a little help, but mostly, this is top-notch. View/download at Machinima.com.
- Halo Final Fantasy: It's not the first time someone's made an RPG in the Halo engine (check these posts - 1 | 2 | 3 - for an older series using Halo 2), but this one's pretty well-done, and fun to watch. Check it out in High Quality at YouTube.

BWU: Mythic Info
Bungie posted its weekly update, as usual, last night (and we made it available in our Weekly Update Archive, as usual, last night) - but it didn't manage to make the front page until now. Just because we're tardy about letting you know, don't think you shouldn't read it - it's full of useful tidbits. It does a lot of clarifying of information made available over the past week - busting rumors before they've really gotten a chance to get rolling, as it were. Most of it involves Sandbox, the big reveal of last week - so go check it out! (For what it's worth, urk's coy hint about the release date of the Mythic Maps as DLC can be deciphered using our Halo Story Timeline.) (Louis Wu 15:44:56 UTC)

Hang 'Em High in Left 4 Dead
rapture, over at the Hushed Casket, sent word that a friend had found a modded Left 4 Dead map based on Hang 'em High (okay, as far as I can tell, a near-perfect replica, not just 'based on'), and rap recorded some video. It's much, much longer than it needs to be - but it's pretty dang cool. Unworlding
Over at Ascendant Justice, Vociferous has added another masterful article - this one is called 'Unworlding', and it looks at the Great Journey. It begins with a decent piece of fan fiction... and continues on to an exhaustive look at all the information currently available about the birth of the IDEA of the Great Journey. Plenty of solid investigative work, coupled with some deft speculation, leads to a well-written, intriguing article that certainly raises additional questions. Go check it out! Out With a Whimper - new trailer, new details
newguy2445 dropped in yesterday with new details about 'Out With a Whimper', the upcoming Halo sidescroller from TriBlox. (We mentioned this game back in December, when a demo was released.)
