SketchFactor, over at Bungie.net, has written up a full article on the Halo PC World Championship, held recently in Los Angeles. It's not quite as good as being there... but it's as close as most of us are gonna get. Check it out! (Louis Wu 00:11:11 UTC)

CENOBITE has opened a new Seventh Column chapter, the Blood Chiefs, devoted to the creative side of Halo. It's a place where 'an elite group of artists, musicians and writers can share their love of the world that is HALO. ' It currently contains a link to an older piece that bears quite a bit of resemblance to a Flood warrior... Check it out! (Louis Wu 16:50:45 UTC)

Sleep? Sleep is for the weak.
Sword theory, religious discussion, and Guilty Spark's motivations... a healthy update, indeed, to the vast collection of speculation and debate that is the Halo Story Page. Check it out! (Louis Wu 13:49:53 UTC)

Looks like Cortana.org has come back online. It's positioned to be a file repository for Halo mods... once the Halo Editing Kit gets released. For now, it's just a design - go check it out! Update: Hehe - looks like I got corrected. :) There's a new news post up at the site explaining what it's REALLY about. (Louis Wu 17:06:01 UTC)

Is that your ping... or your momma's weight?
Rampancy.net continues with another segment of The High Ping Bastard's Guide to Halo - this part (Part Four) focuses on etiquette. It's quite bulky (the lack of whitespace might intimidate some readers), but in general, it has good advice about how to deal with a low-bandwidth connection, in relation to other players. Check it out! Update: Who says Narc doesn't respond to requests? Whitespace has been added; the article is no longer intimidating. (Louis Wu 13:29:16 UTC)

It's just for fun - so go check it out! (Contest ends on February 26.) (Louis Wu 15:37:51 UTC)

Splinter Sell 3.
Quick update, since we missed one yesterday, and I'd hate for the Guest queue to grow TOO long... today's Guest One One Se7en comes from Nukerman53, and is a takeoff of some very early Stuntmutt strips. Check it out! (Louis Wu 23:33:53 UTC)

Pictures... not of the fest yet
So here I sit, finishing up an interview with the Film Oasis guys, trying to figure out how far behind I really am because of yesterday's Fanfest... Over the course of the next couple of days, I'll do my best to catch up, but please be patient. Stuff isn't gonna go up in the order it came in here... it's gonna go up in the order I remember it. First up: a forum thread filled with some hilarious images. The Burninator injected some One One Se7en images into Halo... and eventually BOLL took the concept to its absurd (but just as hilarious) extreme. Check it out! (Louis Wu 18:45:48 UTC)

Halo Babies - now with 70% more corn!
Halo Babies has released content a day early this week, because mrsmiley is getting on an airplane tomorrow to come HERE and play some Halo. There are a pair of strips; the first is Gruntsbane's entry in the Plinth of Art contest (which I liked a lot, but which didn't get a lot of points due to its lack of Art focus) - the other is a Stuntmutt-submitted One One Se7en/HaloBabies crossover. It's pretty funny stuff... and you won't find it in the One One Se7en section here, so go check it out! (Louis Wu 13:53:31 UTC)

Wow. nukedude pointed out some screenshots of a multiplayer level he's working on (in gmax); it's a part of Assault in the Control Room, and looks to be pretty interesting when it's finished! Check it out, drop off your suggestions in the thread. (Louis Wu 08:52:40 UTC)

New info at Halo.bungie.net
Nice find by Mantis819 - Bungie has put up an official page about their HPC server hosting. (The servers aren't new - just the credit to Homelan is.) What's odd is that you can't rent a server from Homelan directly! (Well, that's not completely true. You can rent a 16-player Halo server from them for $0.98/hour... but Halo is not currently on their dedicated server list.) That may change, so if you're happy with the quality of gameplay on the Bungie servers, keep an eye on these guys! Update: There is now an official news post from Homelan on the subject, as well. Check it out! (Louis Wu 11:37:25 UTC)

Identity Theft - Subnova Style
It was just a matter of time... Boxer points out that the latest Subnova.comic totally rips off - um, pays homage to Stuntmutt's One One Se7en. Wow. It could even BE a One One Se7en... except it's not here. Check it out. (Louis Wu 18:55:32 UTC)

10K in February
MaverickJ came back to our forum to point out the Halo Nationals, a $10,000 contest taking place in late February in Philadelphia. The money sounds great; that $10k is GUARANTEED, no matter how many teams show up. Entrance fees get ADDED to it, so the more teams that enter, the more money there is to win. Check it out! (Louis Wu 01:47:31 UTC)

I'm 'onna lose cookies!
Took a little while... but the Dialogue Databank has been updated with almost 50 new snippets. Some are simply cleaner replacements for older entries... but 44 of them are brand-spanking-new. 43 of those come from Captain Spark, and the last one comes from Patrick Naedele, who submitted a slowed-down, reversed jackal recording with a clear message. There's some classic stuff in there... check it out! (Louis Wu 00:38:09 UTC)
