Only YOU can save the Warthogs.
Heh - pretty cool. t00lbox found that if you skip the cave tunnel you need to walk through at the beginning of Requiem, the Warthogs on the other side don't get destroyed! (So... it looks like YOU'RE responsible for blowing those bad boys up. Nice going... jerk.) Check it out - then try it for yourself! (Louis Wu 15:39:31 UTC)

Surrounded by stuff... yet isolated.
CruelLEGACEY has posted 'updated impressions' of Halo 4 - it's a followup to his original review. It's an interesting read, with a lot of food for thought. (The 'set piece comparison' vid does a great job of juxtaposing iconic moments from earlier Halos with similar moments in Halo 4.) Go check it out! (Louis Wu 16:34:22 UTC)

Halo Bulletin - contests, updates, artwork
The Halo Bulletin went live this morning on Halo Waypoint (and of course in our Halo Bulletin Archive, for those who need a leaner version) - it contains information about a number of subjects. There's a new contest called the Infinity Challenge - you've got a chance to win a Halo-themed pickup, an appearance in the next Halo, and more. Spartan Ops will be taking a break, until late January - you can still play existing Episodes, but the last five from Season 1 won't be showing up for at least six weeks. There's a Matchmaking update coming on Monday - King of the Hill is out (the loss is temporary, but we don't know when it'll be back), Crimson Map Pack list is in. (The Crimson maps will show up in other lists as well, heavily weighted, if everyone in your match has them.) If you missed any of IGN's Crimson Map Pack walkthroughs or videos released recently, they're embedded here. And finally, there's some beautiful Halo 4 concept art from John Wallin Liberto. Check it out! (Louis Wu 16:09:57 UTC)

Counter-Intuitive
Thanks to Leisandir for mentioning a new episode from Penny Arcade's Extra Credits series entitled "Counter-Play", which takes a look at how tools and abilities in mutiplayer games should be designed not just for the people using them, but also for the people playing against them. It's a very interesting idea and some excellent points are raised. We'd also encourage you to take a look at Leisandir's post itself for some good thoughts about how this applies to Halo's multiplayer, in both positive and negative ways. Go check it out!
