Beastie Boys - Sabotage (in Halo 3)
Chris Sauer has just finished creating a Halo 3 version of the Beastie Boys music video Sabotage. If you've never seen the vid before (I hadn't), he also put up a side-by-side vid showing the original and the Halo 3 version running together - I must say, he did a pretty good job! Check it out. HMV - Bohemian Rhapsody
Back in 2003, Ross Mills created a Halo music video set to Queen's 'Bohemian Rhapsody', using footage from Halo. There've been versions since then... but today HeavenlyYeti pointed out a Halo 3 version posted on YouTube back in March, created by a group known as Frenchie Films Productions - pretty nice work! Check it out.

A Clover on my Shoulder
Folks have been making montages of gameplay footage for almost as long as Halo's been out, and I think I've been pretty consistent in my tastes during that time. I've always felt that some effects can add to the interest level of the montage - but there's a point at which visual effects take away from a montage's enjoyability. We got word from Lando Griff1n today that his montage was posted, over at Bungie.net (well, hosted by Halo3Montage, but the discussion is at B.net), and I downloaded the HD version to check it out. I think I can say with confidence that I've never seen a montage with more video effects than this one. It's fascinating just from an academic standpooint... but I warn you, you might have some trouble watching it if you've been drinking. There are smaller versions if 330 mb is too much for you. Games and Violence - analyzing the data
RevDotNed suggested some light summer reading - Grand Theft Childhood looks at the relationship between violent video games and behavior. Halo is mentioned a few times, which helps justify its presence here on HBO's front page - but really, this is a subject that comes up a lot, and this book seems to do a reasonable job of addressing it. Pan-Cam, Theater Cam, and Invisible Barriers - a Guide
