Skies Edge Issue 2
Matt 'Traize' Hyne posted Skies Edge, a Halo story in graphic novel format, back in September. Feedback was pretty positive - so he's back with Skies Edge Issue 2; you can download a copy of it at Britxbox.co.uk.(I had some trouble with Preview, Mac OS X's default PDF reader, but Adobe Reader handled it just fine.) Check it out! (Louis Wu 14:24:49 UTC)

Harold talks about the future
A couple of days ago, Anton P. Nym found an interview with Marty O'Donnell at Develop Magazine, and they were supposed to be posting a second interview with Harold Ryan yesterday. Looks like it went up today (thanks again, Steve). It's a really interesting read - Harold talks about how the decision to split came about, and what it means for Bungie, in a depth I haven't seen in other places. There's some fascinating news for Bungie fans, tucked away between statements about how great this is going to be for everyone... check it out carefully! (Louis Wu 16:37:21 UTC)

Go check it out! (It is, of course, in our Weekly Update Archive, as well.) (Louis Wu 13:18:23 UTC)

He's Gettin' Out.
pete_the_duck continues his experimentation for getting outside those pesky invisible barriers Bungie added to many levels (to keep you in the playing field). He's come up with pretty innovative ways of getting outside of ANY campaign level - he gives specific instructions (and provides cool pictures) for The Storm and Floodgate. Check it out! McFarlane Figure Update
On Saturday, Littlebigman pointed out the newly posted 2008 release schedule update for McFarlane Halo 3 toys; I hadn't gotten around to posting this, but we've received a few emails about it, as well, so clearly there's considerable interest out there. So check it out. (It's also available on Spawn.com - search for 'Halo 3'.) (Louis Wu 19:01:15 UTC)

Another Topps Auction
A couple of days ago, we mentioned an auction for a Topps original sketch card. That auction is still going on (5 more days, current bid is $150) - but there's a new one: Kevin's posted a sketch of a Spartan in EVA armor. You've got five and a half days on this one, no bids yet (starting bid is $150, as well). Check it out! (Louis Wu 10:29:39 UTC)

Halo... as art
yankeyhotel stopped by to point out abstrakt, a new blog which showcases screenshots taken within the Halo 3 engine in an artistic way. The shots up now (if you have trouble getting to the site, you're not alone; I have two internet connections, and one can't get there at all) are pretty interesting. They've been resized to fit on the page, but links to the originals on his Bungie.net fileshare are included, both to ensure that the pictures are not modified after the fact and to provide you with hi-res downloadable versions should you want them. He's not the first to play around with this aspect of Saved Films (Injunfett toyed with the idea a week ago, and dogsounds posted a bunch of wallpapers he'd made using the concept yesterday), but as far as I know, this IS the first site devoted to Halo screenshots as art. Check it out! (Louis Wu 11:29:21 UTC)

Heh - there's a blog post from someone who recently joined Animation Mentor, an online animation school - he was amazed to find out that one of his fellow students was none other than CJ Cowan, Halo 3's Cinematic Director. It's a fun read - check it out. Thanks, elite89. (Louis Wu 17:41:46 UTC)

Halo 3 meets V8 Supercars
PROPH37 sent us some interesting info about Australian racecar driver Rick Kelly, who will be wearing (or wore, I guess; the race happened this weekend) a Master Chief helmet in the Bathurst 1000, a V8 Supercar race. You can actually WIN this helmet, by answering some trivia questions (if you're an Australian/NZ resident). Go check it out! (Louis Wu 18:51:47 UTC)
