Angry Robots do Halo
Angry Robot had a few Halo-related items yesterday that I forgot to post. They played through the first two games (writeup and video), wrote up a rant on cliffhangar endings (specifically, Halo 2's), and then played through Halo 3 for a few hours and did a podcast afterwards. Check it out, and thanks to daragh. (mnemesis 15:32:39 UTC)

Louis Wu, Shameless Fanboi.
Venerable HBO news hound Anton P. Nym noticed an article on the Victoria Times Colonist site with quite a few quotes from a familiar source. Our very own Louis Wu (using the rather unimaginative pseudonym "Claude Errera" - sheesh, what the heck does THAT have to do with Bungie or se7ens or anything?!?) checks in with some observations on Bungie, Halo 3, etc. The article also features some quotes from Joel Albert from 2old2play, so at least there's SOME kind of respectability there. Check it out! (mnemesis 18:37:58 UTC)

Get Some Head
bs angel wrote this morning to tell us about her Halo 3 Countdown activity today, which was baking a Halo 3 themed dessert. She made a pretty cool cake in the shape of a pink Mjolnir helmet. Go check it out and leave your compliments to the chef at Hawty McBloggy. (KP 18:17:52 UTC)

Tafiti - Halo-themed search
Microsoft has kicked off a Halo-themed version of Tafiti - go check it out. Tafiti is a search front end from Microsoft; it uses Silverlight (Microsoft's Flash-like layer) and Live Search to bring you lots of Halo search goodness. It requires Silverlight, which is available (for free) for both Macs and PCs, and it currently doesn't work on Safari 3 (though it does, for some reason, work fine with Safari 2) - but other than that, it should be a piece of cake to use. HBO's content, for the most part, isn't indexed yet (there was a mixup on the URLs they trawled, I think), but there's plenty of other Halo content out there on the web - and this is one pretty way to find it! Thanks, Jamey. (Louis Wu 12:08:01 UTC)

Jump In.
Hawty McBloggy continues her countdown to Halo 3 - yesterday was "Make a Master Chief out of Play-Doh" Day (a much better choice than Talk Like a Pirate Day), and a bunch of people participated. Today, she's asking folks to rewrite songs with Halo lyrics, and she kicks off the festivities with 'I'm a Halo Girl, in a Halo World'. (I'd love to hear someone record this!) Check it out - keep yourself entertained! (Louis Wu 18:00:17 UTC)

A peek behind the curtain
Veegie sent us a pretty interesting pamphlet this week; he received it in the course of his job at Target, and while it doesn't hold any company secrets, I found it really interesting, in terms of how a large retail outlet approaches a marketing campaign like Halo 3's. Check it out! (Louis Wu 16:39:02 UTC)

Another Halo 3 Preparation Guide
KEEZY, from PreGameLobby, let us know that they've put together a Halo 3 Preparation Guide. A significant number of the points match up nicely with RVideo's guide from last week - but there are a few extra steps which might be useful. Check it out! Update: RVideo noticed that this list is now available in downloadable PDF format - in case you want to, say, print it out. (Louis Wu 16:27:38 UTC)

Far more information can be found in this MLGPro.com forum thread (registration required) - check it out, and get ready to send him good stuff! (Louis Wu 20:24:33 UTC)

Pimp Your 360
Hawty McBloggy found a replacement case for your Xbox 360 that brings to mind the original Xbox Special Edition case - and in her case, it's more visually appealing than the OFFICIAL Xbox 360 Special Edition. Check it out to see if you agree - it's currently under $45, so if you'd rather go back to the crystal green look, it's WAY cheaper than a new Special Edition. (Louis Wu 18:52:24 UTC)
