Showing results 2526 - 2550 of 2652 matches May 5, 2001 Link to this post CNN checks out Halo beta-testers Thanks to Maestro, who sends in this link from CNN.com, discussing game testing. The last third of it is about Halo. [...] Creamer's team created a written overview of its various elements, assigning a tester to each of them. One tester, for example, is responsible for the game's multiplayer aspect, making sure that different types of controllers, or joysticks, perform the same way in the console's plug-in slots.
An interesting peek at the inside - nice to see that all bases are being covered. Check it out! (Louis Wu 02:07:09 UTC)
May 5, 2001 Link to this post Of Pelicans, and Things Pelican? Matt's weekly Halo Update went to Battleground: Halo this week - and there's lots of tasty stuff there. Multicolored cyborgs for netgames, some Halo moments, and speed increases... but the one that got me was this: The Pelican and the Covenant dropship are working in-game, and now have ground effects (i.e. when taking off they displace lots of dust, etc.)
Either the human dropship got a name... or there's a new human flier on the block. Check it out! (Louis Wu 01:32:09 UTC)

March 19, 2001 Link to this post Halo Update database updated Last Friday's Weekly Halo Update (originally at Rampancy.net) has been added to the Halo Update database. The database can show you fun things, like this is the fourth week in a row in which the 'Mighty Chris Butcher' has figured prominently. And is this the first time we've seen Chris Hughes' name mentioned? (Hint: no.) Go check it out! (Louis Wu 00:01:34 UTC)
March 16, 2001 Link to this post screenshot analysis reconstructed A few days ago, we mentioned that Noctavis, of Rampancy.net, had posted a pretty nice analysis of the new screenshots. Soon after that, though, the R.net forum exploded, showering its denizens with shards of broken verbiage, injuring 14, killing 4. One of the casualties was Noc's analysis post. Luckily, he's taken the time to reproduce it, and in fact add to it. You can check it out here. (Louis Wu 14:03:55 UTC)

March 1, 2001 Link to this post Dreamland going under - can you help? Okay, this is totally unrelated to Halo, and that means we usually stay away from it. Seems to be a good cause, though... Neil Grattan, a frequent contributor to the fan-built sections around this site, writes Mythos (the creators of the xcom series) are in extreme trouble, and are facing liquidation. I myself hold no links with them apart from being an avid follower of their games for many years. The one thing that I wish of your community is perhaps a look and some support of their latest title, which has been cut short and canceled due to publishers Virgin withdrawing funds. At this point you might be thinking...well what do you want me to do about it, its already canceled. If you were to visit http://www.mythosgames.com/dreamland.htmÊfor info on the actual game and http://pub50.ezboard.com/fmythosgamesltd32854frm1Êfor the forum you would see that opposition for the move is very much alive.
The game itself looks incredible - Grat brought it up recently on our forum, and the response was pretty positive. Check it out - maybe another Looking Glass can be avoided! (Louis Wu 21:35:18 UTC)
March 1, 2001 Link to this post Fan Fiction section updated Thanks to Foxhound, who sent in Chapter 2 of his story, 'Group 3'. I tried the squad comm link then flicked on the console in the jeep, just to see if there were any signals. There was nothing, nothing except the dry crackle of the damn energy storm, all communication in our vicinity were dead, for the time being anyway. I again looked out of the windscreen...
Check it out in our Fan Fiction section! (Louis Wu 17:33:16 UTC)
March 1, 2001 Link to this post 11.2? Um... we got mail from Psyrixx, about a new section of the Psyjnir Complex - Tabloids. It's a bit odd. Stop by and check it out. (Be aware that visiting with a browser that doesn't properly implement cascading style sheets will result in a very, very unfriendly page. Netscape/iCab users, stay away.) (Louis Wu 02:06:22 UTC)

February 7, 2001 Link to this post new Halo compilation movie available at MPZ fAt1 from MPZ Halo writes to say that he's put together a new Halo compilation movie. A little while ago I cut and pasted together a compelation of the most spectacular Halo clips from the Halo movies released so far, and I divided them up into sections like 'Interiors', 'Exteriors', you get the idea. If you look, you should be able to recognise lots of the e3 trailer, a fair whack of the nVidia promo and a bit of the MacWorld preview.
It's 5.5 MB zipped, in .asf format (you'll need Windows Media Player to view it), and while it doesn't contain new footage, it's a pretty nice composition. Release was delayed by the attempt to get permission to use parts of various movies. Check it out! (Louis Wu 14:03:49 UTC)
