Thanks to Wheeler, who pointed out that the Halo: First Strike page at Random House has been updated - there's a quick summary of the plot (including some pretty massive spoilers, if you haven't finished Halo yet, and even if you have). Check it out - unless you'd rather wait until December. (Louis Wu 18:37:59 UTC)

WCG Tourney taken by TDT member
Gah. I gotta get a better junk filter. The MLG press releases get filtered right into my Junk folder, when they'd be far better off on HBO's front page... Major League Gaming announced on Friday that Matt "Zyos" Leto, a member of The Dream Team (a group MLG sponsors), walked away with top Halo honors at the World Cyber Games tourney in Seoul, Korea last week. (He pocketed $20,000.) Streaming video of the event is available on this page... you're looking for 'Leto vs Hebbada'. (The blow-by-blow is rather bizarre.) Go check it out! Nice looking city, with plenty of places for fighting! Check it out. (Louis Wu 13:57:13 UTC)

Xbox - spreading marriage at the speed of gaming
First news story of the day was a Brooke Szabo interview with Lorraine McLees; there's ANOTHER Szabo piece over at Xbox.com, this time detailing how the Xbox (well, her association with someone who WORKED for a company developing for the Xbox, but eventually the box itself) changed her life. Check it out! (Halo plays a central role, for those worried about on-topicness.) Thanks to gd for the heads-up. (Louis Wu 13:02:11 UTC)

Halo Revolution goes live
Stearsy writes to tell us about HaloRevolution.Tk - the 'ultimate Halo fan site in the United Kingdom'. There's quite a lot of info here; help in getting online (both XBC, for Halo, and Xbox Live, for other games now, Halo 2 in the future), basic game info (I'd have liked it better if some of our content had been requested, instead of simply included, but hey...), and some homegrown videos. Check it out! (Louis Wu 11:33:56 UTC)

There's more than one way to skin an MC.
Taking to heart the suggestion that some of the skins submitted might not be of maximum use in the field, Dogsounds has created 4 more skins for the MC, this time all camouflage variants. You can find descriptions of each outfit on our forum... or visit the Variants page for the full collection. (Links to all relevant information about the creation of these skins is contained on that page.) Update: Dogsounds has added one more - a Bungie skin. Check it out. (Louis Wu 10:41:39 UTC)
