Bungie.next stirs
So I'd like to apologize - one of the changes that happened when Bungie rolled out the goodness that is Bungie.next last week is that the RSS feed for their news moved. And I didn't notice until this morning. I've missed quite a bit of new content through carelessness... you should check it out if you have, too.
- There's a new Mail Sack - it's mostly concerned with their new look, and the reactions to it. Worth a read.
- There's a writeup of the annual Bungie Pentathlon, which we usually pay attention to as it's happening - sadness reigns here for the missed opportunities. The recap's a pretty good read, though. Take a look.
- And there's a teaser about an upcoming article in Edge Magazine, focused on the studio itself. (Are we gearing up to find out what's been going on in the Chocolate Factory these past couple of years?)

Sins of the Prophets (UNSC Release)
A game called Sins of a Solar Empire (a PC-based real-time strategy space sim) just got a Halo mod - Sins of the Prophets has a new trailer online. Looks pretty amazing! Grumpy sent us word (the other six were too busy) that Dr Bizz is at it again, conquering tricks in Halo 2 that have been vexing folks for years. Halo 4 Light Rifle Re-Imagined
Prinz Eugn shared his re-imagining of the Halo 4 Light Rifle. He also provided a legitimate gameplay reason as to why he re-designed the weapon - the Light Rifle and the Binary Rifle are sometimes hard to tell apart. I have to agree with that. Border Ring on Excellence
An opinion-piece on Kotaku today brought up Halo in an interesting way today as it relates to "getting things right" in a shooter game. The focus of the article is actually the Borderlands series, but the author uses Halo as an example of good shooter design, and brings up some very specific reasons why.
