Continuing A Tradition
Heh - five years ago, we got some cool pics from Skull Leadr - he'd gussied up his jeep with Halo 3 graphics. He just sent along a new shot - the graphics have been updated! Very nice.

High Charity Playing for Child's Play Charity
We got word from Paul Ference, of HighCharity.org, that their second annual High Charity Halo Marathon, benefitting Child's Play Charity, will kick off on Friday, October 26th. Last year's event raised over $2500 during 72 hours of gaming - they're shooting for a MUCH bigger number this time around. The goal for 2012 is $25,000 - can you help them get there? From the press release:
Viewers of the event will have the ability to unlock "skulls," at different benchmarks of charitable donations, causing the group to play longer. "Aside from giving to charity," says Ference, "our donators will also be challenging us by making the games harder and harder with the more money we raise."

Halo 4 Tops Nielson Most-Anticipated List
Mobile & Apps has some results from the Nielson polling group that might surprise - as of this week, Halo 4 is the most-anticipated game for the Xbox 360, beating out Black Ops 2 by a quarter of a percent. Defrost
RVideo pointed out a Halo 3 communitage called 'Defrost' - each segment is edited by a different fan, so there's a nice variety of styles in this 11 minute montage. Overall, quality's pretty high, and gameplay is a lot of fun. Go watch! (Louis Wu 15:30:19 UTC)

Montage Monday
We don't get a whole lot of montages submitted any more - but today, we've got three. And amazingly, they all have something interesting going for them.
- Chappified stopped in with word of Episode One - The Adventure Continues. It's a Halo 3 montage showing off trick jumping... but what makes it unique is that it's all in standard matchmaking. It's pretty amazing to see someone climb the outside of the Pit's Snipe Tower while being shot! Check this out.
- CyReN posted word of a new Halo 3 Dualtage from Lethul and Formal on GAF. Fantastic gameplay (as you'd expect from these two), heavy but interesting editing... and it's all Halo 3!
- RVideo dropped us a line about Fragtage, with gameplay by AfterFraG and editing by ATB and Barker - It's Reach footage, and what it has going for it is some REALLY tightly-synched gameplay. If you're not a fan of heavy editing, this one might be too much for you.

Ooh! Ooh! I bet it's a pony.
Mountain Dew UK has decided to promote a Halo 4-related reveal (hmm, what could it be) by asking for Facebook Shares - until they get 1000, all you can see is the Master Chief and the logo (and some blurred out stuff that's relatively easy to interpret). Wanna help? You know what to do. Thanks, ElzarTheBam. SDCC Spartan Ops Footage
Sunday was a quiet day at San Diego Comic-Con, as far as Halo was concerned - but 343 DID show off some Spartan Ops. You can watch a blurry game posted at TheHaloCouncil, and a much clearer (though considerly less-well-played) game posted by AgeTemplar.

RvB: The Ultimate Showdown of Ultimate Destiny
Heh - nice. CixaleaJwan took the song (and the plot) from the classic 'The Ultimate Showdown of Ultimate Destiny' (if you've never seen it, you've missed a critical bit of internet geekery), and matched it all to clips from recent seasons of Red vs Blue. A peek behind the curtain
nscuDuncan, the unofficial collector of all things Destiny at this stage, let us know that he has summarized the recent contract leak on his website - if you heard about this, but didn't have time to delve into the document yourself to see what it contained, this is a nice summary. RVideo was the first to point out Global, a new community montage from Mattisson. There is some pretty amazing editing on this one, coupled with great gameplay and astounding audio synching - my only real complaint is that some of the clips are too short to really get a handle on. BesTMaN - Halo: Reach Minitage
RVideo sent word of a new minitage from BesTMaN, with editing by Chaos. I could do without the minute-long intro and the 30 outro on a sub-five-minute video... but the gameplay's great, and the editing is pretty fun to watch. (I'm not a huge jetpack fan, but the 360° beatdown on Countdown seems like a fantastic use of the AA.) Go check this out - and hope you don't meet BesTMaN in matchmaking.

SingleHaloClips - April 2012 Communitytage
RVideo let us know about a new video posted at The Halo Forum - it's a communitytage edited by SillyGoose. Pretty heavy on the Sniper kills (not surprising), but a pretty solid watch even so. (The DMR Killtastrophe about 3:30 in cleansed the palate nicely.) Mostly Reach, but older games appear here and there.

Unwind 2
RVideo sent us word of Unwind 2, a new video from ZoLA - it's 12 minutes of friends having a lot of fun playing Halo (and occasionally betraying each other). Gameplay is often amazing, some clips are absurd (it's not even all gameplay) - keeping track of what's going on is non-trivial, but it's definitely fun to watch. If you've got a spare quarter of an hour... go look!
