You think YOU live in the boonies...
Heh - they're playing Halo 3 EVERYWHERE. There's an article in the Brunei Times (if your geography is weak, Brunei is a tiny country on the island of Borneo, surrounded by a piece of Malaysia) about how quickly the 40 copies of the Limited Edition that the country received were sold. I wonder if any of those people are playing on Live...? Update: Arbiter347 is a US expat, living in Brunei, and he wasn't able to even find a store that had HEARD of Halo 3, much less sell him a copy. He's pretty sure that the local copies went to piraters, who will be duplicating them in short order. (Louis Wu 15:28:26 UTC)

Heh - Trevelyan X ran across an interesting info message while messing around in Forge... always nice to see that Bungie's retained its sense of humor. (For what it's worth, the flipee in this case is an elephant. There are films in Trevelyan's fileshare (labeled hhh and flippa) if you want more info.)

- Heh - the New Zealand Herald has a story about how dangerous videogames can be, and warns parents to keep an eye on their children in the wake of Halo 3's release.
- Cinema Blend says Halo is the perfect dance of bullets and dead bodies, and gives it a 5/5 rating.
- Whoa - these are really cute.
- I know I said we were going to call the launch events 'covered' and move on - but the London Gala was pretty extravagant, and Feenix took some great pics and delivered some nice commentary.
- Kotaku's pretty amazed that there's at least one store in Japan that has sold out of Halo 3 (thanks, Red_Breast), even though the advertising campaign there is... a little weak.
- bs angel found this great song on YouTube - MollieJane misses her boyfriend.

Back at home, after a crazy few days in Seattle... it's amazing how much news mnemesis and KP managed to post in the last couple of days. You'd almost think I was expendable... heh. Where did I go? Heh. This article, from Xbox 360 Rally, showed up in my Google Alerts mailbox - it rants about a piece at GameDaily that seems to have been written specifically to drive Halo fans into a tizzy. Marathon Mix 2
Nick Singer posted a Marathon/Halo remix a few days ago - it was pretty well-received (I even heard positive rumblings from Marty about it). He's back, with a new one (descriptively titled 'Marathon Mix 2' - heh); it mashes up Chomber and Under a Night Sky, and it's really evocative. Go listen. Sneak Peek at Gentle Giant Busts
Heh - Ain't It Cool News wrote up the Preview Night walkabout at San Diego ComicCon - and there are some Halo shots, with a pretty prominent 'No Pictures' icon right in front of them. Halo has a few cinematic moments, says GS
Gamespy has posted a Top 25 Video Game Cinematic Moments article - theHalo Wars trailer came in 25th, the Halo E3 2000 demo nabbed 22nd, the Halo 2 'Riding the Pickle' cutscene fell in at 19th, and the Halo 3 CG commercial was at 17th.
