Big Bang
Awesome new video at Game Invasion - 3:41 worth of Bungie employees (Marty, man, cut your hair) discussing what THEY think Halo 3 will give you, and what you're going to be giving back. Hype? Sure. But good hype. Go watch. Thanks, GetOverIT Enor.Update: Schedonnardus points out that there are actually TWO new videos today - the second one, Better than Ever, is all about how passionate the devs are about this game. (There's also an explanation for Marty's new 'do.) Watch this one too! (Louis Wu 21:22:52 UTC)

Tex talks to WebNation
Webnation's Episode 12 contains an interview with Kathleen Zuelch, better known to Halo fans as Red vs Blue's Tex. Great discussion - go watch! (The Halo portion kicks off around 16 minutes in, but the whole episode is entertaining.) (Louis Wu 14:53:30 UTC)

Gamestop Halo 3 Ad
Over the last few days, we've received a number of reports of a commercial put together by Gamestop, saying goodbye to Halo 2 on the way to Halo 3 - but the very first time I saw it was at LiveVideo.com last Friday, when I received a Google News Alert mentioning it. I can't remember what distracted me from posting it then - but it's up now. Go watch. Pretty fun. (Louis Wu 13:12:44 UTC)

Halo 3 Albania - Webisode 2
Dave Bergland wrote to let us know that Webisode 2 of his Halo 3 Albania Project is now posted; you can watch it in QuickTime format on the website, or in streaming format at YouTube. This one tries to clarify what's going to happen in the next couple of months. (Dave needs your help, too.) Go watch. (Louis Wu 18:12:20 UTC)

More from Frankie at Amsterdam
Subnova posted a couple of clips from the Norwegian news magazine Dagbladet; they're from the same interview session that Gamersyde posted with 'No Comment' last week, but some of the pieces are new. Go watch! (Louis Wu 13:52:12 UTC)

Fathom (A Taste)
On July 16, we put up an odd picture. Two days later, we did it again. (Different picture.) Well, they were both teasers for Fathom, a new Machinima project from some heavy hitters in the machinima community - SodaGod, BlackouTT, Jamie98s, FantasyCubed. You can find a variety of download links in the HaloGrid announce thread. I've also encoded a local QT version, 30 mb, that's not on that page (yet). BlackouTT says this isn't a trailer - but I'm not sure what else you'd call it; it sets up the series. Maybe a prologue? Mysterious, with great filming, great audio, great effects - very well done piece of work. Go watch it. (Louis Wu 14:22:46 UTC)

Arms Race
Wow - spending so much time with the Halo 3 trailer, I've neglected to post a note about the Arms Race short. It's linked at the bottom of the Bungie.net Media Blowout page , and it's available (for now) only in WMP9 formats. It's the first Halo-related piece shown at the press conference earlier this evening, and it shows off what Neill Blomkamp might have done with the Halo movie, had it not been put on hiatus. It's rather astounding... go watch it. (Louis Wu 06:53:13 UTC)

The History of Metroid Online
Seraphim wrote to us to point out The History of Metroid Online, a nearly half hour long movie showing exactly how this HaloCE mod came to be. I'm not sure who this is aimed at - it's awfully long, and about a relatively obscure subject, to be of interest to the general Halo public... but if you're interested in how they got to where they are, go watch! (Louis Wu 11:44:22 UTC)

WhatEVER.
You know, I gotta say, when I read Morpheus' forum post about a video his buddy made, I wasn't expecting much... but I found that the actual result was pretty funny. Go watch Master Chief's United States of Whatever at YouTube - it's 3 minutes of nicely timed silliness. (Louis Wu 11:55:06 UTC)

Frankie/Sketch Interview on Games.net

Blood Gulch Chronicles Ep 100
The final episode of Red vs Blue's Blood Gulch Chronicles was released this morning - it's up for everyone now (sponsors and the general public alike). It answers some questions, wraps up some storylines, and, well... go watch it. (If it seems like there are three separate links for the movie... there are.) No spoilers here. (Lots of good lines, though.) Congrats to the Rooster Teeth crew - amazing job! (There's also a really short interview with Gus over at 1Up.com.) (Louis Wu 11:54:48 UTC)

When Admins Forget
Bzerker wrote to let us know that Treeskunk Productions has released Outpost: Backwash Episode 0: Before the Beginning - it's available in multiple formats, ranging from 21 to 74 mb. It sets up the mission the Elites have before them... and the interaction between players. Go watch! Update: wow, it's one of those days. We announced Ep0 of O:B back in October of last year; the steel trap is definitely disintegrating. What Bzerker was pointing out to us was not Ep0, but a totally unrelated film on the same page: the TSP Commercial (down at the bottom). Filmed on Desolation, it's a shameless commercial for both Treeskunk Productions and Second-Foundation.net (though it uses humor to take the edge off the selling). Go watch! (Louis Wu 18:15:47 UTC)

That's what I call riding shotgun!
Rooster Teeth has posted Red vs Blue Episode 99 for sponsors - and dang, they're looking to go out with a bang. It's pretty amazing, overall - if you're a sponsor, go watch now. If you're not, wait until Monday, and then watch. One more ep! (Louis Wu 12:11:49 UTC)

The Heretic Ep 7 - Children of the Ark
Edgeworks Entertainment has posted the finale of their machinima series, 'The Heretic' - a massive 23 minute piece that wraps up a great storyline. (Well, SORT of wraps it up - there's some nice setup for future work here.) Beautiful CG footage, awesome battle scenes, satisfying emotional manipulation. Go watch this! Thanks, Chester the Destroyer. Update: There's a blooper reel, too - thanks, CtD. (Louis Wu 05:54:49 UTC)

Haloid - How-To, and Why
You might remember Monty Oum - he's the guy who created Haloid (which has been served up 1.8 million times from GameTrailers - and which you can download, in high-res splendor, from us... something more than 20,000 of you have already done). Well, GameTrailers sat down with him to talk about Haloid - it's an interesting video interview. And if you want to see how he did what he did... there are a series of 'Haloid Deconstruction' vids which are pretty fascinating, even for a non-modeler like me. Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3 Go watch! Betalicious
MrJukes has been a part of the Halo moviemaking community since the very beginning; we still host an old mirror of his website, because his jumping vids ROCKED. If you swing by Bungie.net, you'll find a cool interview with the man - and a link to 'Betalicious', his latest piece of work. It's an ode to Halo 3 beta play (he works for Microsoft, so he's been playing on the internal alpha and beta for a while now) - it should pump you up for next week's beta kickoff. Because we know that a lot of people simply can't enjoy WMP9 versions, we've put up a QuickTime version - this is the second in our H.264 series (yes, it looks like we're FINALLY moving away from Sorenson3Pro, at least to some degree). Go read the interview, go watch the movie - and you can jump into a pretty big forum thread if you want to comment. Update: QT is now mirrored by Blackstar - thanks! Update 2: Wraith - Ops has offered a second one. (Heh - I think that's probably enough now...) (Louis Wu 02:58:04 UTC)

Hired Gun Head Talks Halo 2
Jo Clowes sat down (well, stood up) with Tina Wood, of Microsoft's Channel 10, to discuss Halo 2 Vista - interesting conversation. 7 and a half minute movie, various sizes - go watch! Thanks, darthbob. (Louis Wu 11:53:36 UTC)

Blastacular Head-to-Head
If you're an IGN Insider, you can go watch a video comparison of the Blastacular Map Pack maps (Desolation and Tombstone) with their original Halo counterparts (Derelict and Hang 'em High). (If you're not an Insider, there's not even a low-res free version - but don't worry too much, they just run around the maps and point out how gameplay has changed.) (Louis Wu 10:54:18 UTC)

The Wrong Crowd
CougRon pointed out that Red vs Blue Episode 96 was released for sponsors late Friday night (it'll almost certainly be available for everyone else by today sometime). There's definitely some funky stuff going on in RvBLand... and my goodness, aren't we thrown a few curveballs. Go watch (unless you're not a sponsor, in which case, wait a bit, and THEN go watch). (Louis Wu 18:07:11 UTC)
