The weather outside here in New England today is a balmy 65 degrees... but it wasn't that long ago that we had snow on the ground. Hawty McBloggy found a couple of shots of a Master Chief snowman from February... nice!

Sandbox in SketchUp, just for you

Halo a top console game? Appears to be, yes...

Mythic Challenge, Round Three
Daniel 'Tyrant' Morris let us know that the rules for Round Three of the Mythic Challenge have been posted - there are new 'medals' added for folks who have already beaten Mythic mode but want to compete, and for groups competing, each member of the winning team will receive a 1500 point card, rather than having to split up a 4000 point one. Halo Trilogy: Real Info
The Halo Trilogy - the Complete Original Sountracks has now been officially announced; you can read the press release over at Music 4 Games. It's available tomorrow, and it looks like I was wrong - it's not just a compliation of released discs up to this point. Well... not entirely. It DOES have the Halo 1 soundtrack as one of the disks, and the Halo 3 soundtrack is another pair - but only Volume Two of the Halo 2 Original Soundtrack is included - Volume One has been replaced with a Halo Wars Bonus DVD, including a behind-the-scenes look at the recording sessions. Weta's Unique Statues - Nearly Gone
A couple of days ago, the Weta Workshop released their second podcast - there's an interesting interview covering the development of the Halo 3 silver collectibles. Three of those four unique pieces have now been sold on eBay - Master Chief and Grunts finished up at $3,050, Master Chief and Arbiter at $2,113.88, and Master Chief and Flood brought in $1,843.81. The silver Cortana statue is currently at $1,650, but I doubt it'll finish there; the auction ends in about nine hours - if you want a shot at this, you'd be well-advised to be online at 6:29 pm PDT, for that last-minute bid. Go listen to the podcast, and then get ready for that final bidding! Update: Cortana statue sold for a total of $2,358.35. Nice! (I'm surprised - I thought it would go for more. Pwnathon - a success!
In June, we mentioned the 2old2play charity drive they called 'Pwnathon 2008' - they were looking to raise $500 to benefit the PKD Foundation. According to this news post at Bungie.net, they not only met that goal - they more than doubled it. The final tally was $1,183.77. Nice! You can read the full writeup on the 2old2play forum.
