Anniversary Autopsy
kornman00 wanted to let us know about the newest issue of Game Developer Magazine, which runs a regular feature called "Postmortem" (not that one), where a developer breaks down their recent release to talk about the nuts and bolts of what went right, and what went wrong. It's always a great read with excellent insight into the more technical aspects of putting a game together. This month focuses on none other than the recent Halo: Anniversary from 343 Industries & Sabre Interactive. For iOS users, kornman included a handy link to purchase a copy of the digital edition for yourself ($3.99 usd). - Hitmonchan107 found an interesting article from VG24/7 with a few comments from former Bungie founder Alex Seropian (in the news a fair bit lately, 'eh?) talking about his high hopes for Halo's future with 343 Industries.

The Return of A Different Way to Campaign
It seems that Halo Waypoint recently reawakened one of its most enjoyable video series, 'A Different Way to Campaign' - and nobody told me! There are four episodes available at both Halo Waypoint and their YouTube channel:
- Setting the Table (Vehicle shenanigans on Scarabs)
- The Takedown (Tips for Phantom Destruction)
- Off The Beaten Path (Taking vehicles where they don't go)
- The Pedestrian (Why drive when you can walk?)

This week's edition features a very cool look at some of the game's audio production, complete with a new OHI entry by Audio Director for Halo 4, Sotaro Tojima. Sack Shenanigans
Could it be that the Bungie Mail Sack will replace the Bungie Weekly Updates? Mail Sack 5.0 was released last night, just 7 days after the LAST one. (Don't get TOO excited - the one before that was almost a month earlier.) Lots of studio details, lots of teasing - no real info about anything upcoming (which means DeeJ gets to keep his job a little longer). Powering Up a Fighter Jet
Halo Waypoint put up their latest Halo Bulletin last night, which features some further information on some of the Halo toys shown off at the NY Toy Fair, as well as some thoughts on Master Chief's new look. HBO stalwart mad.max paid us a visit to remind us all that it's been a staggering nine years ago now since the Halo - and more specifically Bungie - community lost one of its brightest beacons, Brian Morden, or *Ar-Isildur as he was known to many. Over at NeoGAF, StalkerUKCG linked to a recently released video from Kampy's archives - it's a game of FFA KotH on Halo 3's Guardian. Now, you can berate him for playing well out of his TrueSkill range (it was a pretty early game on this gamertag), but the bottom line is, he went +88 with 91 kills... and came in second in Hill time. Halo Bulletin: February 2, 2012
This week's Halo Bulletin is up - a touch later than usual, but none the worse for wear. February Matchmaking updates make up the bulk of the Bulletin, but food for the hungry, a new Custom Challenge, YouTube news, and what's next for Waypoint all get some love. Forerunner Relic Scene
Adam Murphy sent us a link to a video he created using the Unreal Development Kit - it's amazing. It was inspired by some Frank Capezzuto concept art from the Art of Halo 3 book (it's available on Frank's website, as well) - and if you're more interested in how this came together, Adam's portfolio contains some great images. Halo 4 Intel Inbound Soon?
Thanks to Hypertrooper, who brought the word to HaloGAF of the finnish magazine Pelaaja reporting that news on Halo 4 would be revealed at the Xbox Spring Showcase on February 29. Every once in a while, someone creates a minigame in Forge that shows just how flexible the engine can be, when confronted with enough creativity. pete_the_duck stopped in yesterday to announce Minesweeper... which, amazingly, works the same in Halo: Reach as it does on your PC.
