Helping out a Fellow Gamer
A pillar of the gaming community, GamerDad, has had a heart attack, and undergone quadruple bypass surgery. His wife has put up a page on his website, explaining what's going on - if you think you can help, there's a donation link there, as well. Thanks, Ma1agate (and Penny Arcade) for the heads-up. Norway enters the 'break the street date' club
This was first reported to us by Thomas Wendelborg, but there's an article in English up now on Product Reviews Net (thanks, Avateur); a Norwegian game shop has sold at least 2 copies of Halo 3 to customers, so beware, as always, of spoilers. (Louis Wu 15:15:44 UTC) (permalink)
MLG Roundup
3Suns summarize a ton of new content on MLGPro.com for us - there's some reflections from ShocKWav3, a 'State of Str8 Address' from Tsquared, a look back at the 2007 circuit (and a look ahead to Orlando) from Mimic, Walshy's Chicago memories, a video interview with Strongside, Ten top plays from the top 10 teams (highly recommended), some Orlando predictions from Elamite Warrior, and of course Video on Demand from Chicago. Go get psyched for Orlando! (Louis Wu 15:12:05 UTC) (permalink)
Halo on TV A number of people have been letting us know that the Discovery Channel has started advertising a special Halo episode of their Future Weapons show. (Samusaaron3 was first with the news a couple of days ago.) This episode should air Monday. Major Silva noticed that the Sci Fi channel is airing something similar, the day Halo 3 is released - it's called 'Halo 3: Sci vs Fi', and will be on the air at 4pm, according to this guide. (Of course, you can't forget the SpikeTV and G4 specials that will be running on September 24...) Update: The commercial is now on YouTube (thanks, CYBRFRK). (Louis Wu 11:42:42 UTC) (permalink)

1Up mentions some plot recaps and outside literature summaries - if you're trying to catch up on the Halo storyline, check this stuff out! (Louis Wu 11:34:24 UTC) (permalink)
ActionClix already out there?
Max Greenhall found ActionClix already on sale at his local Gamestop last night... so he bought some. (Plasmafrag confirms that his local Target is selling them too.) (Louis Wu 11:20:21 UTC) (permalink)
Halo 3 Front Lines
Injunfett has kicked off a blog to discuss tips and strategy for Halo 3. Look past the spelling and grammar. (Louis Wu 11:15:57 UTC) (permalink)
What does Halo 3 mean to you?
MTV News is looking for fans in the New York area who want to tell their story - no prizes, but they're offering to publish the best ones. Google News was first with this, but Impervium wasn't too far behind. (Louis Wu 11:14:18 UTC) (permalink)
Everybody starts sometime.
Geezer Gamers has a nice editorial about making room for new friends, soon... (Louis Wu 11:12:03 UTC) (permalink)
I'm waiting for the 'Do I hear...?'
More predictions about sales - they seem to get bigger each time someone opens their mouth. According to PC World, GamerMetrics is predicting 4 million units of Halo 3 sold in the US in the first 2 months. (Louis Wu 11:02:35 UTC) (permalink)
Flying and Driving
It's Friday (well, Saturday by HBO's clock, but Friday where I am), so it's time for another Bungie Weekly Update. It went up on time this week - about 4 hours ago - and you should enjoy it, since it's the second-to-last one that'll be posted before the game launches. This one covers what the Bungie public relations have been like for the past week - and throws in some fun stuff to boot. And as usual, you can read it in our Weekly Update Archive, as well.
