Tuesday's Fan Fiction I'd hoped to find time to recode the Fan Fiction section for a new server - it hasn't happened yet. We've therefore brought the original back online, for this section alone. We should be fine for a while. There are 8 new pieces for you there - go read! (Louis Wu 20:41:08 UTC) (permalink)
Hold 'D', eh? Thanks to broony, who sent in a scan of a 4-page interview with Max Hoberman, Bungie's Multiplayer Lead for Halo 2, published in last month's Xbox World magazine in the UK. It mostly discusses Zanzibar... with some fun tidbits of other areas thrown in. Go read it in our Press Scans section. (Louis Wu 20:11:31 UTC) (permalink)
Why won't somebody help the point man? Age points out that the Fire Team Charlie boyz have put out another vid; FTC13b is members-only, but it's 8:16 of hilarity, absolutely worth the 65 mb download. It's currently available in Divx-encoded AVI format, but they'll have a QuickTime version available later today. (Louis Wu 17:21:21 UTC) (permalink)
Guns Don't Kill People... Mike Miller, a man who knows how to play Halo and make movies about it, has dropped off a film called 'Guns Don't Kill People...' If you're at all insecure about your Halo-playing ability, don't watch this. T&R's 'Belly Of The Beast', on Legendary... in under 4 minutes, without firing a shot. (An interesting side effect of not shooting seems to be some glitching in the triggers for the sword elites; they still come out, but not in their normal pattern.) We're hosting this (QuickTime format, 13.7 mb) on files2.bungie.org. (I'm still trying to decide whether I'm in awe of his skill, or whether I hate him for making it look so easy.) When HBO Regulars Meet It seems that Stuntmutt has gotten a taste for fame, and now refuses to let a day go by without a new strip or a news post. Well, the money's good, so I'm fine with it. Go check out his take on what happens when internet geeks meet in real life in today's Guest One One Se7en. (Louis Wu 14:29:55 UTC) (permalink)
Crafty Art It's Tuesday, so there must be 10 new pieces of art on HBO. Today's batch is in the Miscellaneous Art Section. Some snazzy sketching in there! Check it out. (Louis Wu 14:07:19 UTC) (permalink)
Bounce, baby, bounce Juggertrout put together a short (1:19, 6.8 mb) film showing some Warthog Jumping off of pelicans. It's being hosted by Mythica, for the [-TLG-] clan. (Louis Wu 13:33:37 UTC) (permalink)
Delagginator Released Thanks to Nathaniel, of the EPG Servers, who posted a note on the Gearbox forums about the new EPGS Delagginator. Coded by Kornman and MonoxideC, this is a server-side patch that can help significantly with the vehicle warping problem on Halo CE. (Be sure you read his warning about the order in which to do things...) (Louis Wu 13:24:28 UTC) (permalink)
WAPtastic! Way back on April, 2000, Haloplayers launched a Halo WAP site for mobile phones. That site is long-dead... but the idea has been revived, over at HaloPlanet. (I'm linking to the automated forum post for two reasons; there's no 'permanent link' I can lock onto on the HaloPlanet front page, and the thread itself has interesting info, like a link to a pretty good WAP emulator, so you can see what it looks like without a compatible phone.) Slick! (Louis Wu 12:07:19 UTC) (permalink)
