PBS Halo
CARDO 8 ATL pointed out today's episode of Sifting Reality, a webcomic with a Christian worldview. Halo makes an appearance (leading to its mention here), but the gist of the comic can be applied to any aggressively competitive endeavor. Update: CARDO 8 ATL clarified that this strip is part of the Pearls Before Swine comic - it really has nothing to do with the site it was linked from, other than that it was of interest to the site's curator. Halo in the Smithsonian
Remember Ed Fries' Atari-fied Halo? (We mentioned it about three and a half years ago. You can still play the Flash version in that link!) Last night, as on most Wednesday nights, Waypoint released the week's Halo Bulletin - it has a nice recap of the events of 343 Day (this past Monday), along with plenty of other tidbits. There is info (both short and long-term) about matchmaking playlists, there is info about the upcoming Red Bull 5G tournament, there is an interview with a community cartographer about his most recent map, and there is a screenshot spotlight on the color yellow. Yesterday, a rag-tag bunch of HBO regulars joined together to take on the Alliance - erm, 343 Industries - in a match of Snap Shot (snipers only, and no-scopes are the only way to score) on Haven. They emerged victorious. Halo Waypoint just announced that Halo: Spartan Assault will be landing on the Xbox One on December 24th this year! The digital download will be $14.99 USD and features over 30 missions, the all-new online Co-op mode, and the Operation Hydra expansion pack. In some pretty cool news, apparently fans that have purchased Halo: Spartan Assault for their Windows 8 device or Windows Phone 8 prior to December 15, 2013, will be eligible to purchase the Xbox One version of the game at the discounted price of $4.99 USD. More than 7 years ago, we mentioned a website that had 17 different Halo-themed Flash games - we just heard from Mukelo, its curator, and they just passed the 100-game milestone for Halo titles. (The 100th game is something called Elite Dress-Up 2: Female. I'm not sure I'd call it a 'game' - but overall, 100 titles IS impressive!) Go check out their goodies!
