Brute Force
RVideo stopped in with word of a new release from the Jump Tactics crew - at first, I felt that a jump video on a custom-made map, using unlimited ammo and invulnerability, would be dull to watch... but I quickly realized I was wrong. Maluu has a grace with the Concussion Rifle that's simply a pleasure to behold. Cody Miller mentioned a flashback to the Deprivation Chamber in the first Marathon game - I have to say, it's what came to my mind, too. Definitely worth a watch! (Louis Wu 13:09:43 UTC)

Quad Mythic Contingency - SLAIN
Daniel 'Tyrant' Morris and some friends attacked the Weekly Challenge yesterday as a team of 4 - the rendered 24 minute movie can be found on Bungie.net. Not only is it the second in their Quad Mythic series (the first was played on The Package, back in October), but if you're having trouble with this challenge, this film can give you some pointers on what works at this difficulty level. Custom Halo Figs
Kaidon stopped in with links to some custom Halo action figures - he's added custom sculpted armor, new paint jobs, the works! There's a custom ODST Spartan (a what, now?), an Elite Commando (awesome helmet!), and a repaint of the Elite Ultra to match the in-game version. Nice work! (Explore his site - there are many more.) CE Customs
chess and some friends were jonesin' for the feel of the original Halo - so they've set up a group to attempt to get as close to that playing environment as possible in Reach. If you visit the site, you'll find settings that will help you approximate original Halo weapons and damage, and there are lists of downloadable maps and gametypes that should generate some serious nostalgia. Halo CE News Roundup
Our man in the field send us a list of some cool goings-on in the Halo CE community:
- Precipice has been updated - you can watch the whole video, or you can jump in about 40 seconds for the good stuff.
- If you have an ATI 5 or 6 series card, you can have anti-aliasing in your Halo. Wow.
- Halo Custom Edition is getting bots - awesome!
- If you're a .NET programmer, BlamLib will let you interface with Halo's Tag System. Definitely tech-heavy... but pretty amazing!
- Ifafudafi's Plasma Pack 3 does really funky things with needles. Go look.
- Project Epsilon is Inferno's single player map based on the character Agent Washington from Red vs Blue. It has voice acting and custom animations!
- Someone built a Target Locator in Halo CE. No visuals yet (it's a pistol)... but ti's just as deadly as the Reach version. Pretty snazzy!

Reach-themed car for Forza 3 VIP's
Just after the release of Halo: Reach, Turn 10 Studios made an announcement in their Weekly Blog about a custom Reach-themed car that would be sent out to Forza 3 VIP's. A couple of weeks ago, they made good on that promise. If you play Forza 3 but have ignored it lately for obvious reasons, go look to see if you have a new ride!
