It's like a double rainbow all the way
padraig08 built a spectacular panorama out of the Condemned skybox. (Stephen "WetBlanket" Loftus explained why this is a bad thing. He may be right - but MAN, it's still pretty.) (Louis Wu 15:02:44 UTC)

Stephen Loftus dropped off another batch of Halo signs yesterday - check the Civilian, Miscellaneous, and UNSC sections for the newest goodies. I hvae NEVER seen a few of those - anywhere. Where does he find them all? (Louis Wu 14:55:55 UTC)

Community Outreach: Stephen Loftus
A new Community Outreach feature is live on Halo Waypoint right now - Stephen Loftus plays Firefight, talks about Reach's story, waxes poetic about Halo scenery, and mistakes Vociferous for a grunt. A fun watch! (Louis Wu 15:28:33 UTC)

It's the little details...
Stephen Loftus noticed that there was a bit of non-English writing at the end of one of the entries in Halsey's Journal (the book that comes with the Limited and Legendary Editions of Halo: Reach) - so he sent it to a friend in India, who was able to read it. (A scan of the snippet is here, if you want to see it for yourself.) You can read the email exchange between Stephen and his friend on our forum - and follow the rest of the thread for speculation about what it actually signifies. What a great little touch! Halo Scale Comparison - Revisited, AGAIN
Stephen Loftus wasn't content with his existing scale charts - he went back into the games and measured a whole bunch of new items and objects for his Halo Scale Comparison. The layout for the cascading images has been permanently changed to 1280x720 (he started using this format for his recent overhaul for the Halo Waypoint pages, and stuck with it because it allows more horizontal room for height comparisons). You can navigate the full set of images by starting on the largest items, and drilling down. (Changes begin around the Forerunner Dreadnaught scale.) Some surprises await you! Stephen Loftus' Scale Comparison, Updated
A couple of weeks ago, Halo Waypoint highlighted Stephen Loftus' Scale Chart of objects in the Halo universe; he redid his existing scale comparison to fit properly on a 720p TV screen. He also added a new top-level screen, showing the Halo Ring in the context of the Ark which built it. It's taken us a little while (what can I say, life's busy), but we've updated his local article to both include the new first level, and to give you the opportunity to view the entire Waypoint presentation on the web. (Well... at least the Waypoint-SIZED presentation.) Enjoy! (Louis Wu 17:41:47 UTC)

Stephen Loftus - now on Waypoint!
We missed this when it went live a couple of days ago, but Stephen Loftus' Scale Comparison can now be found on Halo Waypoint - it's even got new artwork that isn't in the HBO-hosted version! If you've got Xbox LIVE, swing by and check it out! Thanks to both General Vagueness (who noticed the announcement before it went live) and doober187 (who pointed out the actual article). New Halo Toys - coming soon
Stephen Loftus noticed some new Halo items coming soon - Toychest News has info about upcoming Halo Reach action figures (they'll be here in September), and Alter Ego Comics is shwoing off a pre-order for a Cortana vinyl 8-inch statue (you can own this in December). Also coming in September is a radio-controlled Scorpion, to go along with your Warthog, Mongoose, and Hornet). Nice! Update: AvatarofChaosvX passed along a sell sheet for Reach Series 1, found on The Collectorate's forum (login needed to see original thread). (Louis Wu 14:38:40 UTC)

Small H2 Vista Egg Sighting
Stephen Loftus noticed a graphic he'd not looked closely at before as he was wandering through Halo 2 Vista - and found a small tribute, maybe to the Halo 2 Vista Art and Design Lead? (Louis Wu 12:17:50 UTC)

The Earth Survey Catalogue - Stephen Loftus Edition
Stephen Loftus thought that given all the recent activity surrounding the Halo universe and fan attempts to pinpoint Halo-relevant celestial bodies, he'd release a small portion of his personal research document with his version of the Earth Survey Catalogue. To give you an idea of how this fits into the whole, the portion he's excised from his personal Halo Bible is pages 26-60 for the Earth Survey Catalogue and pages 439, 440 and 455 for the reference notes. It's downloadable as 2.2 mb PDF file. Enjoy! (Louis Wu 13:23:32 UTC)

More Pillar of Autumn Love
Brad McMullen let us know that Stephen Loftus isn't the only Halo fan obsessed with the Pillar of Autumn - his buddy AlmightyNabeshin, over at DeviantArt, has been posting his own cool PoA pieces. Check out a structural study, a cross-section of the ship (color-coded for functionality), and a pretty cool front-end view (not quite finished). Nice work! (Louis Wu 14:57:50 UTC)
