EGM Covers - Bigger
Remember last week, when we mentioned that EGM had 3 covers coming out for their September issue? Well, Kotaku has posted much larger pics of them - very, very nice. (Louis Wu 12:04:20 UTC)

Hello, Needler (Redux)
BitMaP stopped by to point out that a DeviantARTist colored an older black-and-white comic he did this spring - the end result is quite nice. (Louis Wu 11:05:05 UTC)

More ARTFX MC Pics
Kotaku has another article about Kotobukiya's upcoming $99 Master Chief statue - along with a few pictures from Toy News International. Interchangeable weapons... nice. (It'll look great on my shelf next to the Muckle statue...) (Louis Wu 12:20:06 UTC)

I think I'd rather go with sun, thanks.
Wow, nice. Hit the beaches in s7yle, with your new Master Chief beach towel. The only downside? The $35 pricetag. Thanks, x1zero. (Louis Wu 19:12:13 UTC)

Best of Both Worlds v2 Part 1
Z dropped us a line about another dualtage - Gears of War and Halo 3, from inX 2Bit. Enormous file (172 mb for 6 minutes) - but the quality's quite nice. Good footage, too. (Louis Wu 06:02:39 UTC)

WorthPlaying says H2V is Worth Playing
WorthPlaying took a look at Halo 2 Vista - they felt it's a bit dated, but "a worthwhile title despite its age, and it's a prime example of how a console-to-PC port can be done properly". Nice. (Louis Wu 14:26:09 UTC)

Another reason to buy a Zune
Nice... if you read the description of the new Halo 3 Zune at Gamestop, you'll see it comes preloaded with "collection of music, videos and artwork" - and the artwork is described as "Over 120 different images, including game concept art, storyboards, paintings, and conceptual marketing imagery". I guess I figured they were simply bundling up what Bungie has to offer on Bungie.net. I was wrong. Deepblue pointed out a gallery at Gizmodo that contains dozens of new pieces - concept art, poster ideas, sketches... I wish the quality were higher, but the artwork itself is amazing! Beorn printed out Bungie's latest graphical offering on a nice large-format printer... wow, that looks nice. (Louis Wu 16:21:28 UTC)

Tucker Knows Best
Red vs Blue episode 94 is out now for sponsors, in two flavors - 250k and 400k bitrates. As they come down the home stretch, they're back to their roots - and the result is glorious. I just watched this in a room full of people, with headphones plugged into the laptop; the laugh-out-loud moments freaked several folks out. (In retrospect, I suppose letting them HEAR the jokes would have been nice...) If you're not a sponsor, this should be available by Monday or so. Thanks, darthbob. (Louis Wu 13:04:14 UTC)

Pixellated Halo
Wow, nice. Leviathan is building a version of Halo for RPG Maker 2000 - he's posted a LOT of pictures in this forum post. Check out how far he's gotten! (Louis Wu 18:29:11 UTC)

Tied The Leader Tuesday
If it's Tuesday, it must be Venice. Erm... I mean Tied the Leader. XerxdeeJ stopped by with a summary of the goodies available this week at this grandaddy of Halo blogging sites - there's a 22 Questions Interview with Ellie Gibson, editor of GamesIndustry.biz, a recap of the most recent Tied the Leader Potluck (I was there, it was fun), a review of the movie 300 with a Halo slant (I haven't read this, because it told me not to until I've seen the movie), and a Community Profile of The Adult Gamer, a site aimed at (whoa, surprise) adult gamers. Get to reading! (Louis Wu 14:18:41 UTC)

Next-Gen's Hot 100 Game Developers
Next Generation is doing their annual 'Hot 100 Game Developers' list (last year, both Jason Jones and Alex Seropian made the list, which was ordered alphabetically) - this year, the list is ordered by influence. Seropian's not on the list this time around (Wideload Games has been pretty much under the radar until very recently), but Jones makes it again - at number 4! Nice. Thanks, madcowjim. Mercenary
Luke Jeffery let us know that Mercenary is out now, as well - you can grab it from the Wandering Tiger website in WMP9 format (22.4 mb). I found the story to be a bit... disjointed, but the filming is pretty nice. Give it a look! (Louis Wu 14:06:24 UTC)

EGM Article Info Summarized
Yesterday, Velez got REALLY lucky and found a copy of the December EGM at a local store (way ahead of when it's supposed to be sold); he's being good and not posting scans, but he did a nice job of summarizing some of the new information available. You're still gonna want to read this on your own (and look at all the pretty pictures)... but the info is really nice. (I didn't post this earlier because it hit Digg.com last night, and I wanted to wait until the bandwidth crunch was over before adding to the load.) (Louis Wu 03:06:34 UTC)

Wall-mountable statue up for grabs
Wow, nice. GryphonOsiris found a pretty cool Halo Master Chief statue (well, it's wall-mounted, so I'm not sure what you'd call it) on eBay - check it out! Do it quickly, though - only 4 hours left. (Current bid is just over $150, and reserve isn't met yet.) (Louis Wu 18:13:20 UTC)

It's Chris the Hippie Day at H3F
Over at Halo3Forum.com, where the quest to solve Chris the Hippie's mystery is reaching new heights, Z has posted an older trailer CtH made but never had hosted. It's definitely all about the editing - gameplay is an afterthought. However... the editing is quite nice. Check it out (and maybe get involved in the puzzle!). (Louis Wu 22:06:11 UTC)

I got a bask'eball jones...
No Soup 4 You was reading nba.com, and ran across the blog of Gilbert Arenas, of the Washington Wizards. What's this guy doing with some of his extra cash? Why... he's sponsoring Final Boss! Nice. (Louis Wu 20:07:23 UTC)

Ghosts of Onyx, the Audio CD
Tempus Fugit noticed an entry for an audio version of Ghosts of Onyx... real, or Amazon's mistake? (And if it's real, who's reading it?) Nice. (Louis Wu 21:34:34 UTC)

Honestly Unique and a Radical Departure
Whoa, very nice. Aint It Cool News had a chance to ask Neill Blomkamp a few questions about Halo, and Neill's goals with respect to the upcoming movie - after reading some of his answers, I'm pumped for the movie. He knows his stuff! (It tickled me to see my graphic work included gratuitously in the middle of the interview, as well...) Thanks to all who wrote in - looks like Flash2000 was first. (Louis Wu 19:05:17 UTC)

Carved Plasma Rifle for Sale
Very nice. AngelicLionheart found a solid oak carved plasma rifle on eBay - starting bid is $150, buy it now price is $25 higher, there are just about 2 days left. Pretty nicely done! Check it out. (Louis Wu 19:33:53 UTC)

Marty Talks Halo 3 at PLAY!
Very nice. Spartan Jag pointed out a tidbit in an interview over at Xbox Evolved - Marty O'Donnell discussed Bungie, Chicago, and Halo 3 with one of their staffers before the PLAY! concert a couple of days ago. (The tidbit is cool - apparently, there was a chance for some press folks to play a little multiplayer at E3; I hadn't heard anything about that before.) The interview, in its entirety, is actually pretty nice - give it a read! (Louis Wu 02:56:51 UTC)

Class. All the way around.
I doubt they do this for EVERY applicant - but the fact that they do it at all is pretty darned nice. weephun (a forum regular, and a major contributor during the I Love Bees ARG) applied for a job as a Test Engineer a bit ago. He didn't have the game programming experience to get the job... but Bungie let him know they appreciated his time in any case. How cool is that? (Louis Wu 19:03:40 UTC)

Halo Case Mod
Nice. Someone modded their computer case - with a cool Halo 2 theme. There's an LED bar that simulates the loading progress bar from the game. You can see a couple of photos in the Bungie.net article. Thanks to Spartan Jag for the heads-up. (Louis Wu 23:23:28 UTC)
