Some old-timers might remember Pico - he was an early maker of machinima, notably the Lethal Rage series in 2003/2004. He stopped in this morning to point out an interview by the folks at machinima.fr - the english version is here, the french version here. It's a fun read! (Some good advice from it, to folks making machinima now: "Make a movie you want to see." Sounds like Pico and Bungie have similar philosophies!)

September 14, 2004 Link to this post Lethal Rage 4 Pico is celebrating his 20th birthday today... and as a present to the Halo community, he's released Lethal Rage 4, not so much a sequel as another in a series of nicely filmed battle pieces. Cinematics are great (and the bloopers at the end give you some idea of how much work went into them). The bugaboo for this series has always been voice acting, and that continues to hold true here... but that shouldn't deter you from grabbing the vid. It was originally posted on Angelfire, and I'm astounded that that link survived the night - but at this point, there are a few other mirrors (including two we've supplied ourselves), and of course we're always happy to add new links to that page, if you feel like helping out. And oh, yeah... Happy Birthday, Pico! (Louis Wu 14:48:23 UTC)
August 27, 2004 Link to this post Lethal Rage 4 Pico has put up a teaser for Lethal Rage 4, the next in his series of machinima battle vids. About 2 mb, in either WMP9 or QuickTime formats. (Mostly hype, but there's enough rapid-action video to make you want this out...) (Louis Wu 12:44:48 UTC)
March 23, 2004 Link to this post Lethal Rage 3 Pico has submitted Lethal Rage 3, a massive (10:11 long, 35.7 mb) tale of heroism and courage, of finding the strength within to carry on when all hope is lost... and, well, to act like an idiot when you win. Cinematography is awesome, storyline is great, and there are some very nice stunts. VERY nice. Watch this one. (And mirror it for us, if you've got the bandwidth - it's gonna be popular.) It's currently available in QuickTime format from Mythica.org and files.bungie.org, but if you want to put up a copy, send us a link, and we'll announce it. A DivX version will be coming at some point. Update: DOH! Pico had asked me to link to a thread he started last week about this, for discussion. I forgot. Luckily, he started a new one today; comments can go here. Update 2: Another couple of mirrors - enough to warrant a mirror page. We'll add more as they come in. Thanks, folks! November 5, 2003 Link to this post Lethal Rage 2 mirrored Thanks to Blade, who's mirrored yesterday's release of 'Lethal Rage 2' at Team Ice. (Louis Wu 03:46:27 UTC)
November 4, 2003 Link to this post Lethal Rage 2 Pico submitted a new movie, called Lethal Rage 2, recently. The first time I watched it, I felt that he spent too much time trying to get that 'cool cinematic shot', and not enough time advancing the plot. Watching it again, I see that part of my problem was the confusing flag colors. (Seems to me the capture is going backwards. Maybe it's me being slow.) Anyway, a second runthrough shows me that it's actually a pretty slick film. It's the story of a Blue assault on the Red flag, and it's got all sorts of James Bond-ish features tossed in. (The drop-off-the-cliff-into-the-ghost scene is quite nicely done.) It's been re-encoded into QuickTime format, and weighs in at 16.6 mb (it's 5:40 long). I've posted copies at both files.bungie.org and Mythica - and if anyone feels the urge to mirror, we're always happy for extra links. Pico's asked for feedback in this forum thread. May 10, 2003 Link to this post Movies at Nukedude Two movies hosted by Nukedude - there's a mirror of the recently released Lethal Rage, and a movie by forumgoer Danny, showing gameplay on Blood Gulch. Thanks, Nukedude! (Louis Wu 12:46:21 UTC)
May 9, 2003 Link to this post Movie Mirrorage That Weasel steps up to the plate and mirrors Lethal Rage - always nice to have extra bandwidth! New movie coming tomorrow... (Louis Wu 02:17:31 UTC)
May 8, 2003 Link to this post Don't kill the cops... We've had a few interesting movies submitted recently. We can't put them all up at once, because we'd kill our kind bandwidth hosts... but here's the first one. Called 'Lethal Rage', it's a sordid tale of murder and gang violence in the city... all set on Sidewinder. Parts are rather dark; blame me, not Pico, the creator. (Well, the original was pretty dark in those places... but not quite THIS dark.) Sound issues are NOT my fault. :) 5:37 long, 26 mb big. QT format. If you can mirror this, please, let us know!
