Shoulda Snarled Back
343 Industries and Dark Horse Comics have just released Issue #5 of Halo: Escalation. Some things are really starting to heat up in the Halo Universe! If They Like It Then They Might Just Put a Ring On It
With the announcement of Microsoft's acquisition of the Gears of War franchise from Epic, Polygon thought it fit to provide an opinion on how they feel that Halo 4 laid the blueprint for the next generation of Gears of War. It's an interesting read regarding the evolution of both series', and how the way Microsoft has handled one might clue us in to how they might handle the other. Check it out! Halo Waypoint put up an awesome preview of the upcoming novel Halo: Mortal Dictata, the third and final installment in Karen Traviss' "Kilo-Five" series. Xbox Ondering
This morning a blog post by Xbox Corporate Vice President of Marketing, Strategy and Business, Yusuf Mehdi thanked fans for "an epic 2013" and touted some of the cool happenings and titles on their way in 2014. Missing conspicuously from the list was Halo, which inevitably led to some fraught musings regarding the next installment making it in time to meet its 2014 goal on the Xbox One. As Game Informer points out though, there is no current reason for concern, highlighting some post-blog tweets o' clarification from Rob Semsey, PR manager for the Halo and Forza franchises. Infinity Sleigher
Halo Waypoint just announced that Halo: Spartan Assault will be landing on the Xbox One on December 24th this year! The digital download will be $14.99 USD and features over 30 missions, the all-new online Co-op mode, and the Operation Hydra expansion pack. In some pretty cool news, apparently fans that have purchased Halo: Spartan Assault for their Windows 8 device or Windows Phone 8 prior to December 15, 2013, will be eligible to purchase the Xbox One version of the game at the discounted price of $4.99 USD. Spartan Assault on Your Living Room
Halo Waypoint announced today that Halo: Spartan Assault is coming out this December for digital download on both the Xbox One and the Xbox 360. Sweet! Not only that, but a brand new expansion featuring the Flood and a new online co-op mode will be added to the mix. Sounds awesome! For more including screenshots and trailer, hit the link above. Halo on more than just One device
The VERGE reports that Microsoft showed off Halo 4 running on both Windows PC and Windows Phone through it's Azure cloud service. A Precursor to next-gen streaming service similar to Sony's recently-purchased Gaikai service? Guess we'll see! (GrimBrother One 21:37:40 UTC)

No Aversion to Conversion
343 put out the latest Halo Bulletin last night, with a focus on some pretty interesting changes and updates to some popular matchmaking playlists, as well as a very cool look at a new community-borne gametype, "Conversion". A Certain Sense of Scalemaster
Kotaku highlighted a fantastic piece of art by DeviantArt member Dirk Loechel that compares the size (and look for that matter) of an absolute mess load of starships from various sci-fi universes, including the obvious smattering of Halo craft. It's an awesome way to spend an hour just perusing over, and imagining them all as one massive fleet headed through the galaxy. Go and check it out! We recently mentioned the latest round of Postmortem's awesome "Visualizing the Halo Universe" community contest series, where community members provided their take on the Forerunner Capital City from Greg Bear's Forerunner Trilogy. In Halo They Trust

Champions Pull Themselves Out Of The Pit
343 Industries revealed today some pretty exciting news for Halo 4 fans, announcing that there will be a new "Champions Bundle" released with 2 new maps, including Pitfall (a remake of The Pit) and new map Vertigo. Also included will be a very cool new gametype called Ricochet, as well as (woo hoo!) new armors, armor skins, and weapon skins.
