Tag and Release: Alpha Site
There's a new Tag and Release article up on Bungie.net - 'Alpha Site' is the phrase of the week. Go see how they did! (Louis Wu 19:18:25 UTC) (permalink)
Hearting Marty
GrimBrother One noticed that Kotaku has a preview of the upcoming last.fm app on Xbox Live - looks like it's going to have a dedicated Marty O'Donnell channel! (Louis Wu 18:41:43 UTC) (permalink)
Love, Bungie
So, earlier today, I posted the standard Monday Comic Roundup - Halo-related comics that hit the web since Friday. We had a special treat for you - Stuntmutt dug himself out of his cave for a limited engagement, and kicked off a week-long series of strips. (There's even a bonus strip right now in our forum.) Soon after that newspost went live, I noticed that Halo Action Figure Theater ALSO had a new comic up - two of them, in fact. And I wondered about our other defunct (er, dormant) strips - I guess 'wondering' publicly can wake some people up! ZZoMBiE13 sent along Another Halo Comic Strip 116, in direct response to the challenge. It really IS a special Comic Monday! (Louis Wu 18:31:20 UTC) (permalink)
Halo Waypoint: Coming Soon
Halo Waypoint has sent out some press materials; we've posted the release, a whole passel of screenshots, and a 30 mb video preview of the service, which goes live on November 5. Swing by and see what you're in for! (Louis Wu 17:49:26 UTC) (permalink)
Band of Spartans, Episode 1
Futur Life stopped in to let us know about 'Band of Spartans, Episode 1', a French-made machinima weighing in at nearly 20 minutes. (Futur Life suggests that the emotions are understandable in all languages.) Take a look! (Louis Wu 17:46:46 UTC) (permalink)
Sorry, Charlie Apparently, there are some waters off Longshore that allow floating... so what have Grifball fanatics done with this info? Why, created a Water Polo variant of their insanely popular game, of course. ell3ment and Gunnergrun have whipped up a map called "Ocean Arena", and a gametype known as "Grifball of the Sea" - you can download the map and gametypes at Forge Hub, and watch a movie on YouTube. Go swimming! Thanks, NOKYARD. (Louis Wu 16:59:19 UTC) (permalink)
ODST BMW for Forza Pre-Orders
If you read the October 9th Bungie Weekly Update, you saw a pretty cool Halo 3: ODST-themed BMW. Now you have a chance to actually grab that car, from Turn 10 - they're giving away three customized cars to folks who have preordered, and that ODST Beemer is one of 'em. Read this page on their blog for full details. Hurry - you've only got until October 26th! Thanks again, urk. (Louis Wu 16:58:42 UTC) (permalink)
All up in my grille...
Wanna watch some splattering? Stewie2552's fifth montage to the activity is now live - thanks, urk. (Louis Wu 16:50:05 UTC) (permalink)
Monday Comic Roundup - with a Bonus! Some fun stuff today in the comic roundup - we've got our standard Sunday Grin + Bear It (interesting uses for Engineers!), we've got a Halo mention in this morning's AppleGeeks Light (thanks to many, first was Jim 028) - this explains a LOT of things - and we've got a very special treat for you. Stuntmutt's back, just for the week, with some new ODST-themed One One Se7en strips! First up - Phony. Here's hoping you like bad puns and bad art - because he's here all week! Try the Kig-yar. Update: OMG, it's TWO strips back from the dead! Halo Action Figure Theater has not one, but TWO updates - there's a guest strip by OboeCrazy yesterday... and a brand-new regular-storyline strip from Elnea which recaps what happened the last time this strip was live (back in June) - and opens the door for a bigger story. Hmm... I wonder if we'll get new strips from ZZoMBiE13, Paul Maestri, or Blackstar this week? (Louis Wu 13:47:28 UTC) (permalink)
Regret
FassinTaak whipped up a Shepard Fairey-style poster of the Prophet of Regret - would make a nice wall hanging. Take a look! (Louis Wu 12:50:09 UTC) (permalink)
Animatronic Elite Whoa - Brandon pointed out a pair of videos from Kre8-fx, showing off the start of an animatronic Elite costume being whipped up for Halloween - (the first shows off the servo controls for the jaws, while the second - much shorter - shows off the moving eyeballs, along with lots of other small but really cool tidbits).

All the cool kids are wearing it
Last night's episode of The Simpsons - 'Treehouse of Horror XX' (available here on Hulu, sponsored by Halo 3: ODST) has a fun Halo reference - Jimbo is dressed as the Master Chief. Looks like bluerunner was first on our forum with the update! (Louis Wu 12:46:23 UTC) (permalink)
I GUESS that's a small part...
Hawty McBloggy found a pretty funny little clip - looks like grenades do more than explode!

The Candy Coated Wonder Road - Friends
Darkspire Films is back - and the first of several new shows is "The Candy Coated Wonder Road". Can you picture a Halo-based children's show? You don't have to - they've built one. The first episode is "Friends", and the music is infectious. Well... healing, but... oh, never mind. Go watch. (Louis Wu 12:38:49 UTC) (permalink)
Behind HW Cutscenes
Chris101b ran across the personal website of Brandon Riza, an employee of Blur Studio. In his 3D effects portfolio, he includes some cool animations he's built for various projects - including the Halo Wars cutscenes. Very nice alternate angles! (Louis Wu 12:37:56 UTC) (permalink)
