ONI BIAS: File 1.0
razzimous stopped in with word of a new machinima series known as 'ONI BIAS' - the first episode is online now. This is looking pretty well-done... check it out! Next episode is out in a month. (Louis Wu 20:49:26 UTC) (permalink)
This Spartan Community Podcast This Spartan Life was a machinima series that featured largely in the Halo community scene a few years ago, but we haven't heard a lot from them recently. Its community has decided to put together a podcast - and the first episode is online now. Thanks, Eaite Randjam. (Louis Wu 19:48:26 UTC) (permalink)
Designing Games that Don't Suck
Ross Mills found an article at Gamasutra discussing game design, and how choices made by developers can affect how players interact with the game. There's an example that seems to be based on Halo. It's an interesting read! (Louis Wu 19:45:07 UTC) (permalink)
Community Content at the Source
Bungie.net is full of goodness this afternoon - let's see if we can recap: Go explore! (Louis Wu 19:08:24 UTC) (permalink)
You KNOW someone lost a bet.
These showed up in our forum as well - but they're so nicely formatted over at Hawty McBloggy's... looks like some of the Bungie guys dressed up a bit during the Bungie vs the World gameplay - and agdtinman was on hand with a camera to document it all. Whee! (Louis Wu 11:27:19 UTC) (permalink)
Dang, dude - that's a lot of games. FyreWulff completed his 7777 on the 7th challenge (we mentioned it a couple of weeks ago) - congrats to him, and to the people who won the contest! (Louis Wu 11:26:42 UTC) (permalink)
Halo Animation Leak
This likely won't be up for all that long, but it WILL be the talk of the interwebs until it's down, so we might as well mention it. A contract animator working for Bungie posted a demo reel on his website that included some bare-bones animation of a UNSC marine beating up on a Jackal. Speculation immediately blossomed - this had to be content from Halo: Reach! (It might indeed be just that - or it might be something he created to GET the animation job at Bungie. Nobody's talking, so we don't know.) He quickly pulled the demo reel, but of course it ended up on YouTube anyway (and CVG picked it up this morning) - whether it's early animation for a game we haven't seen yet, or just a creation by someone who works with the Halo figures, it's pretty cool stuff.
