iHaloStats - iPhone Stats, to the Max A month ago, we mentioned a small app you could use from your iPhone to get your Halo 3 stats - now there's another option, and it's pretty amazing. iHaloStats.com shows you everything from a summary page to your medal chest to your weapons stats. All nicely formatted for the iPhone. Check it out! (This was created by the same guy who showed you how to make stereoscopic screenshots from Halo 3.) (Louis Wu 20:02:00 UTC) (permalink)
Gone fishin?
There's an interesting piece over at Tied the Leader today - apparently, the Gunslingers are playing quite a bit of Call of Duty 4 these days, like many other people on Xbox Live, and XerxdeeJ looks at some of the reasons why. He also speculates on how long it'll stay on top, given its strengths and weaknesses (vis a vis Halo 3) - but my big question is, when people are ready to move on from CoD, will they move BACK to Halo 3... or on to a different game altogether? Give it a read - and then toss in your two cents! (Louis Wu 17:02:11 UTC) (permalink)
Phosphrescence
ZZoMBiE13's getting into the bad pun biz - check out today's installment of Another Halo Comic Strip. Ouch! (Louis Wu 15:18:20 UTC) (permalink)
Caption THIS
Hawty McBloggy wants to give you stuff. Good stuff. She's got a Halo 3 soundtrack, a $20 gift certificate, a 1-month Gold subscription card for LIVE, and maybe more. And it's all gonna go to whoever comes up with the best caption for a pic Bungie posted last week. Go read her site for full details.

Ew. Just Burn the Hat. Elnea's posted Episode 117 (!!!) of her Halo Action Figure Theater - things are looking grim for Admiral Norris! However, the fact that she actually modeled a UNSCDF badge for his hat makes everything better. That... or the cake. (Louis Wu 14:41:27 UTC) (permalink)
More details about Seattle PLAY! Dates
A few weeks ago, we mentioned some performances of the PLAY! concert series in Seattle this month - there are more details now in the Seattle Post-Intelligencer. Marty O'Donnell will be at both shows! (Louis Wu 14:29:08 UTC) (permalink)
Halo 3 Tourney in Tennessee
The Bristol Motor Speedway in Bristol, TN will be host to a Halo 3 tourney this weekend - check this article in TriCitiesSports.com, or visit the tourney website. Entrance fee is $25/event, and top prize is $1000. (Louis Wu 14:25:03 UTC) (permalink)
Beating Halo 3's Biggest Level - Fast
If you're interested in speedrunning Halo levels, you could just watch the videos at HighSpeedHalo.net - they'll show you how others are doing it. However, if you're looking for philosophy of route-taking, you need a blog entry. Ken Henderson has written up a piece on how to beat The Covenant in 20 minutes - I learned stuff from it! Halo 3 drops to number 2 on Xbox LIVE
Halo 2 was released on November 9, 2004 - and from that point, until the week of November 13, 2006, it was the number one most played game on Xbox LIVE. (Part of that long, long run has to do with a dearth of killer titles for the time frame in question... but certainly Halo 2 was a truly playable online game.) Gears of War took over in the week of November 13... and remained on top until the week of September 24, 2007, when Halo 3 exploded on the scene. Halo 3's run at the top was much shorter than either Halo 2 or Gears of War - a scant 16 weeks. As of the week of January 14, Call of Duty 4 has taken over the top spot. Will it, too, be dethroned in a matter of weeks... or will it hold on longer? Time will tell. Thanks to MasterChief2829 for the heads-up. (Louis Wu 14:01:50 UTC) (permalink)
