Big Bang Awesome new video at Game Invasion - 3:41 worth of Bungie employees (Marty, man, cut your hair) discussing what THEY think Halo 3 will give you, and what you're going to be giving back. Hype? Sure. But good hype. Go watch. Thanks, GetOverIT Enor.Update: Schedonnardus points out that there are actually TWO new videos today - the second one, Better than Ever, is all about how passionate the devs are about this game. (There's also an explanation for Marty's new 'do.) Watch this one too! (Louis Wu 21:22:52 UTC) (permalink)

New screenies at Gamersyde

Halotosis
A thoughtful, well-written article (typo in the first line notwithstanding) can be found over at Gamers with Jobs; Julian "rabbit" Murdoch discusses how Halo 3 simply CANNOT live up to the level of hype that's been generated. The line that resonated most with me was his description of Guitar Hero 2; even though he enjoyed it, and has played it more than its predecessor, "it's been much less satisfying, if only because its excellence is expected." We would all do well to remember this. Thanks, Doc P. (Louis Wu 13:19:01 UTC) (permalink)
Those are his orders.
Swing by Tied the Leader for a special treat today - XerxdeeJ has a 12-minute interview with Steve Downes, who plays the voice of Master Chief in all three Halo games. Sound quality is awesome, behind the scenes discussion is beyond awesome. 11.5 mb in MP3 format - go grab a copy! (Louis Wu 11:40:44 UTC) (permalink)

Kubrick Action Figure Theater
Elnea bought some Kubrick Spartans, and decided they'd fit nicely into her Halo Action Figure Theater. I think she's right. (Louis Wu 11:22:08 UTC) (permalink)
Add the countdown to your .sig
RVideo pointed out a small gif you can include in your .signature that will show a countdown to Halo 3 with each pageload. (Don't save a local copy; all you'll get is the time to Halo 3 from when you saved it. You need to use the URL he provides.) (Louis Wu 11:18:53 UTC) (permalink)
Getting a look at who killed you
The Australian Herald Sun has an article about the Saved Films feature of Halo 3, with some discussion from Frankie about the game in general and what Bungie tried to do with it. Give it a read! (Louis Wu 11:15:38 UTC) (permalink)
