Maybe if he'd brought a Grunt canister...
Whoa, very cool. El Burritoh climbed near the top of Mt. Fuji, in Japan... and took Master Chief with him. Nice pics! (Louis Wu 21:31:24 UTC) (permalink)
Clarification on the Saved Films Issue Frankie has clarified the '100 item limit' on uploaded films and screenshots for Halo 3; the limit is per profile, and it should be possible to juggle between profiles. Since anyone with a 360 can make Silver profiles for free, you should be able to, with a bit of extra work, save additional films in profiles created just for that purpose. (If this 'issue' is news to you, check last Friday's Bungie Weekly Update. Search for 'Reports surfaced' on the update page.) (Louis Wu 21:25:20 UTC) (permalink)
Treasure Hunt Clues: Day 3/7
ManKitten has posted clues for Day 3 of his 7 day Halo Treasure Hunt - this batch includes an awesome video. Who knew hornets died at 117 degrees? Go join in the hunt! (Louis Wu 21:21:12 UTC) (permalink)
4.2.6.8.6.
Remember this? Now we've got this. (Louis Wu 20:23:36 UTC) (permalink)
More Marathon Survivor Pics
If you read Bungie's interview with Freeverse's Bruce Morrison, you got to see a few screens of new levels they'd created specifically for their new 'Survivor Mode'. Well... we've got a few more. Plus wireframes of the levels, as overviews. Check 'em out! (Thanks, Luke and Bruce.) (Louis Wu 19:59:57 UTC) (permalink)
Calling For Back Up.
One of the scenes we caught of glimpse of in the recent Halo 3 E3 Trailer was of Cortana, collapsing in front of the Chief. Luckily, the Chief isn't quite as clueless as the hero of One One Se7en... (Louis Wu 19:55:39 UTC) (permalink)
Legendary Tattoo Devastator sent along a pair of pictures (shot 1 | shot 2) of a new tattoo he got in Las Vegas last week - this was done at the 'Hart & Huntington' tattoo parlor in The Palms Casino. (If you want to follow up, Joey did the work in about two hours.) Great shading!

I've never seen that bottom 100 pointer before...
Whoa - this IS a little bizarre. 1Up has a web page for the August 2007 Issue of EGM, containing the extras they didn't put in the mag - and you can download a pair of Halo 3 Shooting-Range Targets (one a single page, one a 9-page PDF you print out and piece together). As Simpsons Rule points out, this isn't the first thing you think of when you think 'Halo 3 Branding'... (Louis Wu 14:51:19 UTC) (permalink)
Um, the dog ate the first copy Fyrewulff wrote up a review of the Halo 3 Beta (yes, it ended almost 2 months ago; as he says, better late than never) - you can read it at Platformers.net. (Louis Wu 14:44:30 UTC) (permalink)
Podtacular 119 Part 1 of 2
Podtacular is releasing Episode 19 in two sections, because there's so much to talk about (it's basically a discussion of the E3 stuff - trailer, Arms Race, new console, etc). Halo Unyielding's Laird is guest host. Part 1 is up now, a 40 mb download. Part 2 should be coming soon. Thanks, Big Goalie Dan. (Louis Wu 14:09:14 UTC) (permalink)
Uprising Release Updates The last time we mentioned the Halo: Uprising, a couple of weeks ago, there wasn't any information about issue 4. Since then, Marvel's posted an info page for the issue (it's coming out on October 31, barring delays - thanks, DHalo) - but they've also adjusted release dates of the first three issues. The first issue is now pushed back to August 8, issue 2 is expected August 29, and issue 3 should be out by September 29. (2 and 3 haven't actually changed recently - but they might, as their release dates get closer.) (Louis Wu 13:50:54 UTC) (permalink)
Arbiter Rookie Card - Totally Rare Littlebigman pointed out new Halo schwag, coming in September - Halo Topps Trading Cards. Collect your favorites! Update: Cybrfrk pointed out that these were mentioned back in June (though there's new info now). (Louis Wu 13:41:28 UTC) (permalink)
Upcoming Halo 3 Downloadable Goodies DHalo noticed a story at wonderwallweb.com - starting tomorrow, you'll be able to download some 'exclusive content' from a site on msn.com, including a Halo 3 ringtone for your phone. The website is up now, though the downloads page isn't - you can read an interview with Frankie, a preview of the first level from E3, and a discussion with celebrities about what Halo does for them. Don't forget to stop back tomorrow for the downloads! Update: Looks like the downloadable stuff is up, a bit early. Thanks, DC Tactical. (Warning - more than one forumgoer was disappointed by the offerings.) (Louis Wu 13:19:05 UTC) (permalink)
