5 Meeellion Players. Wow. 15 minutes ago, the 5 millionth unique Live account (not including guests) started a game of Halo 2 online... that's a lot of fraggers! (Louis Wu 20:28:01 UTC) (permalink)
Frigate Flyby Nabsuh posted a cool little animation of a frigate (retextured) flying by the camera. Tiny, fun - go look! (The local QT mirror is H.264 encoded; I'm thinking it might be time to move that way, finally. QuickTime 7.1.6 plays this admirably on a multitude of machines here; let us know if it works for you (and if not, what you're playing it on)!) (Louis Wu 18:01:45 UTC) (permalink)
LiL Poison's Getting Old! Okay, not OLD, really - he just turned 9. But man... the kid's been present on the pro scene for YEARS! Happy birthday, LiL P! (There's a documentary about him coming out next year...) (Louis Wu 15:49:54 UTC) (permalink)
Flushed Out. One Porta-Potty joke wasn't enough for Stuntmutt - there's another one in today's One One Se7en. Child. (Louis Wu 15:46:14 UTC) (permalink)
Reid 18 Montage 5 Remix Back in December, we mentioned Reid 18's fifth montage; we just got word from Z, at Halo3Forum.com, that Vox has remixed it. I found it a bit hard to watch in places, but the synching is really good. Take a look - WMP9 format, 91 mb. (Louis Wu 13:40:19 UTC) (permalink)
Podtacular Episode 112 Big Goalie Dan pointed out that Podtacular Episode 112 has been released - they're still focusing on leaked content. 75 minutes, 72 mb. (Louis Wu 13:08:49 UTC) (permalink)
Austrocity opens DuBbLe stopped by to announce Austrocity, a new Australian Halo 3 Beta blog - swing by for some basic info about what's coming in the future. (Louis Wu 13:05:12 UTC) (permalink)
Blastacular Head-to-Head If you're an IGN Insider, you can go watch a video comparison of the Blastacular Map Pack maps (Desolation and Tombstone) with their original Halo counterparts (Derelict and Hang 'em High). (If you're not an Insider, there's not even a low-res free version - but don't worry too much, they just run around the maps and point out how gameplay has changed.) (Louis Wu 10:54:18 UTC) (permalink)
How did Joyride go out of business? Yesterday, we mentioned an insane Halo action figure collection - today, there's another one. Joerhyno has been doing his own collecting... I'm floored by this one, too. Update: Wow, PFG posted HIS collection... nice! (Louis Wu 10:51:01 UTC) (permalink)
Sonic Halo Spartan Erik pointed out a new Halo Flash vid at Newgrounds
- thewax70 has set the first couple of cutscenes (audio and action) up with Sonic the Hedgehog graphics. I found it to be really well-done - definitely worth a watch! (Louis Wu 10:45:40 UTC) (permalink)
Halo 2 Vista - delayed until May 22 Last week, we mentioned that game retailers had been adjusting their availability listing for Halo 2 Vista from May 8 (yesterday) to May 23. All week long, European and Australian sites have been contacted by Microsoft with the news that the overseas versions would, indeed, be delayed until May 23 (release date in Europe was May 18 to begin with, so it was only a few days) - but it wasn't until yesterday that that news OFFICIALLY made it here. I can't find an actual copy of the press release, but many sites (like, say, Kotaku and GameSpot) are reporting that Microsoft has officially announced a new date of May 22. Reasons cited are "to make some improvements to the install experience and address other technical issues." While we're mentioning Halo 2 Vista, we should point out a pair of new reviews for it - GameZone loved it, while GameDaily (with their third review) suggests that it's okay, but not good enough to warrant an upgrade to Vista.
