Time, we got nothin' BUT time The HSP Timeline page has been updated with events from Ghosts of Onyx. Read the book, if you haven't already, and go check out how the events fit into the larger picture. I guess I gotta work on the vessels and names pages now. (Clearly, this timeline contains spoilers for those who haven't read the book yet - you've been warned now.) (mnemesis 19:30:05 UTC) (permalink)
The knee plate's connected to the thigh plate Ross Mills looks to be the proud new owner of a set of Mjolnir Armor... (Louis Wu 19:06:52 UTC) (permalink)
H3 Multiplayer Map Goodness The 1Up Multiplayer Map Preview is now online (thanks, mercury) - in-depth descriptions of Snowbound, High Ground, and Valhalla. They sound great! Go read. (Louis Wu 17:23:32 UTC) (permalink)
Is that all? Another 72 dialogue snippets have been added to the Dialogue Databank, courtesy of Hellhawk (they've been queued up for MONTHS, I'm sorry it's taken so long); there are still almost 100 snippets total waiting in the queue, but there's light at the end of the tunnel! In the meantime, go listen to a few dozen Elite and Female Marine clips! (Louis Wu 17:19:18 UTC) (permalink)
New Halo 3 Stuff at 1Up Dry Ice pointed out some new Halo 3 images at 1Up.com - four of 'em. (I'm not sure I'd call 'em 'screens'... they're cutouts and concept art. But they're definitely new, and pretty cool!) Credit goes to Umbra, on the Bungie.net forums, apparently - link in Dry Ice's post. (Louis Wu 16:23:27 UTC) (permalink)
MCDB cleared out Took me long enough, but I finally cleared out the long-suffering batch of entries, sorry to all that were patiently waiting for their work to appear. Some folks are still not quite getting the point of the Cynic's DB, I urge you to reread the main page before you submit your entry. That said, I'd like to take the opportunity to highlight an entry that really made me chuckle (and groan of course!), as well as exemplify the kind of entries we're looking for. I'd like to continue highlighting entries in the future. So without further ado, checkout Beowulf's entry, A Little Respect. (Ding 14:27:00 UTC) (permalink)
Taking A Jab. Today's One One Se7en is a demonstration of the maxim, 'when in doubt, pun badly.' (Louis Wu 14:21:12 UTC) (permalink)
More Midi Halo Stuff BlueDingo5 sent along three new Midi pieces - the full Halo 3 music, the full Halo Wars theme, and Pursuit of Truth (full, with chords). The archive is a tiny 7K, zipped. He figured out the notes with his keyboard, recorded them, then USB'd them to a freeware midi program for saving. There might be a couple of small mistakes, but mostly he wanted to say thanks to Marty O'Donnell for the initial work. Check these out! (Louis Wu 13:44:55 UTC) (permalink)
Montages - with a twist Two slightly different montages from Halo3Forum this morning, thanks to Z. First up is Reid18's Nubtage, which shows what happens when someone really good goes into Team Training - the Killimanjaros come fast and furious - it's 133 mb, in WMP9 format. The other one is Yasha's 'Almost a Montage' - it's clips of what MIGHT have been really cool montage pieces, if the snipe had worked, or if the grenade had stuck. EVERYONE should be able to feel for this - we've all had days like this. (For some of us, EVERY day is like this.) 56 mb, WMP9 format. Check 'em both out! (Louis Wu 13:40:09 UTC) (permalink)
