August 6, 2012 Link to this post Curiosity Skills Halo fans are probably already familiar with the fourth rock in the Sol system, with humanity slated to begin colonization on the red planet in 2080. Last night, we took another very real step toward that future with the successful and hugely impressive landing of the Mars Rover Curiosity. The nail-biting feat included a brand new and incredible landing procedure, carried out flawlessly and providing scientists with a priceless scientific asset for years to come. While we all love the fiction side of space travel, I'd like us to take a moment to recognize and congratulate all of those involved, from every corner of the globe, in making this event a success. It's a great step forward for humanity; Here's hoping the Shaw-Fujikawa FTL engine isn't far behind... (GrimBrother One 17:58:03 UTC)
