October 10, 2001 Link to this post No in-game content control in Halo Matt passed this info along yesterday, but Jester pointed out that I hadn't made it front page news yet... Seems that Halo has no in-game content control. (Myth had content control - you could set it to show stars instead of blood.) The reason for this is simple, and two-fold: 1) the Xbox already has a control built into it - you can lock out games above a certain rating, and 2) the ESRB assigns its ratings on the most extreme version of the game - if there is M content, and in-game content control that would tone it down to T-level content... they'll still give it an 'M'. Because of this, Bungie gains very little by adding in-game content control, for a lot of extra work. (Louis Wu 14:27:59 UTC)
