March 10, 2001 Link to this post The World is Not Enough Last June, when the news of the Microsoft buyout first went public, there was quite a bit of discussion about the possibility of Halo being the Xbox's 'killer app' - a game so good that gamers will buy an Xbox just to play it. (In fact, In October, 2000, Daily Radar wrote a piece suggesting that Halo was just that app.) In a new DR piece, though, discussing the biggest hurdles the Xbox needs to clear, they suggest that far from being the Xbox's 'killer app', Halo is just a PIECE of the success puzzle: ...[Microsoft] also needs some blockbuster exclusives to bolster anticipated titles such as Halo.
Ah, well... foolish consistency, and all that. Who said journalists can't be flexible in their thinking? (Thanks to S'phtman for the heads-up on the new article.) (Louis Wu 11:02:08 UTC)
