October 17, 2008 Link to this post Don't worry - America's still playing video games
It looks like for the first time since March 2006, retail sales of video game software (year over year - that is, for the current month compared to the same month last year) will decline in September. However, Wedbush Morgan analyst Morgan Pachter says don't think this is a sign that Americans are abandoning video games in these times of economic chaos - rather, blame it on Halo 3. It's not that we're buying less NOW, it's that we bought a ridiculous amount THEN. Gives a whole new meaning to the term "Halo effect". Thanks, Sep7imus. (Louis Wu 16:26:44 UTC)
