Grand Theft Auto IV beat all sorts of sales records - first day, first week, units, dollars, whatever. I don't think anyone was surprised by this; the franchise has sold a staggering 66 million copies in previous iterations, and this version is, by all accounts, the best yet. However, N4G has found a way to put Halo back on top - they decided to look at just first-week 360 sales. And in that single metric, Halo beats out GTA4, 3.75m to 3.3m. Me, I'm happy that the video game market has gotten so huge in recent years; more gamers is a good thing for the industry, no matter WHAT they're playing. (Louis Wu 15:32:07 UTC)
