Damien Isla was one of the Bungie employees who talked at this year's Game Developer Conference - he described how the Halo 3 AI Objectives System made the game more fun for players. Over at Game/AI, he's written about how he didn't actually think this system would work, during development - its focus on end results, rather than guidelines TOWARDS those results, would be too hard for designers to work with (he thought).
