He's running a little late (the article in question was released in November), but Lyndon LaRouche has condemned Wired's Clive Thompson for being degenerate enough to write about video games. (Thompson suggests that in some senses, LaRouche might have a point - he did, after all, write about "the aesthetic pleasure of dying in Halo 3" just a couple of days ago.) Bottom line: you run the risk of looking like an idiot if you shoot your mouth off about material you haven't bothered to even glance at. (Thompson's one of the most eloquent game writers I've read, and I can't recall an instance where he's advocated anything even remotely degenerate.) (Louis Wu 16:21:50 UTC)
