July 24, 2007 Link to this post Halo in Libraries? An article in the Daily Herald (covering Cook County, IL, outside Chicago) lays out a situation in which a library in Mount Prospect, IL is planning a Halo tournament this weekend, but being fought by the National Institute on Media and the Family. The watchdog group believes that it's inappropriate for a library to host an event that uses a game with a Mature rating - even though the library has required permission slips, signed by parents, for all attendees. (The slips do not mention the rating of the game.) This library held its first Halo tournament several months ago - with no complaints, and in fact with parental praise. (Louis Wu 11:03:36 UTC)
