Generating Philosophers of Play
Sep7imus noticed an article over at Wired which discusses the lack of a 'Lester Bangs' of gaming. (Lester Bangs, for those of you under 20, wrote about rock music in the 70s and is considered by many to be the first really influential 'rock critic'.) The article isn't really Halo-related (Halo 2 gets a tiny mention in passing), but it does make the point that good game criticism will likely always come from sites like this one rather than mainstream professional 'game critics'.
