It's a YouTube channel dedicated to archiving machinimas from the Halo 2 era. He's already uploaded 415 videos to the channel; and the archive has a total of 672 videos total through both uploads and playlists. The channel features machinimas from more than 40 clans/groups; including HollywoodHalo, Jamie98s, Sodagod, HaloUnion and much more. He said he put it together by heavily using much of our old Halo news archive, so check it out if you'd like to rewatch some old school fan videos! (MacGyver10 22:12:05 UTC)
April 2, 2011 Link to this post The Adventures of Koko Bear Chapter 1
kokobear (who used to upload here as Jamie98s) is back with 'The Adventures of Koko Bear Chapter 1', a very different sort of Halo machinima. In fact, Halo doesn't even make an appearance until three minutes into the video. (World of Warcraft's model viewer helps out at the start.) I'm pretty sure hallucinogens were involved in the writing of this machinima - but the end result is oddly compelling. Will Koko survive his meeting with the Watermelon King? You'll have to watch the next chapter to find out! (Louis Wu 16:01:26 UTC)
June 22, 2010 Link to this post Oh So Beautiful - Halo 1 Edition
In 2005, Jamie98s created a series of videos he called 'Oh So Beautiful', looking at the scenery of Halo 2 (I | II | III | IV) - and then in 2008, he created one for Halo 3. Well, according to urk, he's back - with a Halo 1 edition. You can watch it on YouTube (at the Bungie.net link), or you can download it from us - 104 mb, in either WMP9 or QuickTime formats. (Louis Wu 19:14:33 UTC)
July 28, 2009 Link to this post Blue Skies
Koko98s (aka kokobear aka Jamie98s) is back with a new music video - it's set to Blue October's Blue Skies, and it's... very sad. But with some very cool cinematography. You can watch it on YouTube, or you can download a higher-res version from his website. (It's a Rapidshare link, so in the interest of keeping you from having to deal with the evil that is Rapidshare, we're hosting a copy, as well - WMP9 format, 30.5 mb.) Thanks, urk. (Louis Wu 16:32:02 UTC)
April 22, 2009 Link to this post Earth (a la Halo 3)
CMNeir created a video that celebrates Earth Day 2009 with some great footage from the Halo 3 Earth-based maps. Reminiscent of the 'Oh So Beautiful' series from Jamie98s - except it's Earth-only. Great stuff! Thanks to the Bungie Blog for the heads-up. (Louis Wu 17:23:43 UTC)
March 26, 2009 Link to this post The Unlucky Elite 6
Jamie98s is back with another episode of The Unlucky Elite - all he needs now is a Wile E. Coyote mask, and it would be perfect. Absolutely worth watching - fun music, great filming. LOVED the ending. Thanks, urk. (Louis Wu 17:19:45 UTC)
March 19, 2009 Link to this post Bungie Blog Blastacular
Was out this afternoon, came back to a monster collection of material on the Bungie Blog: - Jamie98s (or Koko98s, as he's known on Bungie.net) has released The Unlucky Elite 5 - that poor dude can't catch a break. Great effects.
- Halo3BigApple whipped up a montage from Mythic map footage - seriously short (it's 1:40 long, and the actual gameplay is less than fifty seconds of that), but nice clips.
- Real Life Halo 3 is a pretty amazing piece of work - the crew at the Granger Community Church put two real players inside a game for some awesome bomb-planting action. Check this one out.
- urk's got word of another Mythic Map code giveaway, this time at The 7th Wonder. Register to win.
- Juggernaut is really short, so its one laugh works out to a decent laugh-per-minute rate. (Not sure what urk saw in this one.)
- 3 Ball is live as this weekend's Double XP Weekend playlist - go earn an achievement or two.
- Greenskull and SMG90 continue their Rube Goldberg-style golf courses - this one actually starts in the Crypt, and ends up in the Sky Bubble.
Aren't you glad urk's looking out for your free time? (Louis Wu 18:50:56 UTC)
March 9, 2009 Link to this post 2
Jamie98s is back to Machinima-making, and this one's a little... different. He's got a full explanation for it - but you're better off watching it, and seeing what you get out of it on your own. It's called '2', and it's available on his site either streaming (via YouTube), or downloadable (from RapidShare). Because we like his work, we're making the downloadable .AVI available from our servers... as well as a QuickTime and a WMP9 version. (All downloadable versions are about 40 mb.) Go watch! (Louis Wu 18:22:09 UTC)
September 21, 2008 Link to this post Knocking on Heaven's Door
Jamie98s just let us know about 'Knocking on Heaven's Door', a music video set to an Eric Clapton version of the song. It tells a sad story. You can stream it from Jamie's website, or you can download it from us (WMP9 format, 54.3 mb, or QuickTime format, 52.3 mb). Nice cinematography! (Louis Wu 14:41:07 UTC)
September 13, 2008 Link to this post Grinchian Grins and Color Blindness The Bungie Weekly Update is up... but it's light. If you're not interested in golf (and Bungie's playing of it), and if you've already listened to the podcast... there's not a huge amount of material that's new. There are (vague) details about the release date of the September update, there's some cackling about new Banhammer upgrades, there's a cool reference to the latest work of Jamie98s... but still, go read. You'll make Luke happy; except for the weekly updates, all he's got to do all day is play Halo and eat pizza. As always, if you're unable for whatever reason to read it at Bungie.net, you can peruse it in our Weekly Update Archive. (Louis Wu 01:39:46 UTC)
September 4, 2008 Link to this post Oh So Beautiful - Halo 3 Edition You might remember the video series from Jamie98s entitled 'Oh So Beautiful', in which he took a close look at the natural wonders in Halo 2... he's back with a version updated to Halo 3, and you can watch it streaming on his website, or download it from ours (WMP9 format is 135 mb, QuickTime format is 121 mb). It's all campaign footage, and it runs about eight and a half minutes. He even created a series of wallpapers from some of the shots seen in the video - go prettify your desktop, after you've watched the flick! (Louis Wu 21:16:33 UTC)
August 28, 2008 Link to this post 28 Weeks Later In late July, Jamie98s released a trailer for 28 Weeks Later, his reconstruction of the movie of the same name in the Halo 3 engine. Today, he's proud to announce the full version - a monster film, 43 minutes long, weighing in at a bit over 350 mb in downloadable format. Here's Jamie's description: "Six months after the rage virus was inflicted on the population of Great Britain, the US Army helps to secure a small area of London for the survivors to repopulate and start again. The main focus is on a father reuniting with his 2 children, whose mother was infected by the virus." 43 minutes might seem absurdly long for a Halo machinima, but Jamie cut half the movie to make it fit (though he did so in a way that kept the story fully understandable). It's an amazing piece of work; he's captured the tension and emotion of the original, while living within the confines of the Halo 3 environment. You can download it from our servers in either WMP9 format (366 mb) or QuickTime format (359 mb) - we rarely serve files this large, so I can't promise downloads won't be slow. If you don't want to wait, or you can't handle the larger version, Jamie98s should have a streaming version on his site at some point soon. Two thumbs up! (Louis Wu 14:54:28 UTC)
July 28, 2008 Link to this post 28 Weeks Later Trailer Jamie98s has released a trailer for 28 Weeks Later - you can watch it streaming from his website, or you can download it in WMP9 (28.2 mb) or QuickTime (29 mb) formats from our mirror. Great integration of effects - not too over-the-top, but powerful. Great camera angles. Looks to be fantastic! (You might remember Jamie's 28 Days Later recreation from about 3 years ago... he likes the genre!)

June 6, 2008 Link to this post Unlucky Elite 2
Last September, Jamie98s let us know about the Unlucky Elite - today, he's released a sequel. Unlucky Elite 2 follows our hapless friend as he continues his fight against the human. Great sound, nice effects, well-done all around. You can watch the streaming version at Jamie98s' site, but since nobody should have to be subjected to MegaUpload, we're providing mirrors for the download versions - both WMP9 and QuickTime. (They're 62 mb each.) (Louis Wu 13:20:33 UTC)
November 21, 2007 Link to this post Eclipse
Jamie98s has released a new machinima project - this one is called 'Eclipse', and it's about a mysterious planet that is engulfing suns as it passes through galaxies. When it reaches Earth, ODSTs are deployed to investigate. This movie is 12 minutes long, and created with a modded version of Halo 2, plus lots of post effects. There is no dialogue, but this actually works pretty well. 106 mb in WMP9 format, 104 mb in QuickTime format; grab a copy, and see what he did! (Louis Wu 16:16:24 UTC)
November 17, 2007 Link to this post Prelude
Jamie98s is back, with a short project - he says "it's kind of a trailer but not really". Filmed in Halo 2, with some interesting mods and lots of post-production work. Sad... but powerful. About 20 mb, in either WMP9 or QuickTime formats... go watch! (Louis Wu 12:35:56 UTC)
September 7, 2007 Link to this post The Unlucky Elite
Jamie98s sent us another new movie - this one is called 'The Unlucky Elite', and it's all about a poor sucker of an Elite who does his best to kill a Spartan. Lighthearted, not too big, well-filmed - go watch! It's available in WMP9 format (35.1 mb) or QuickTime format (33.1 mb). (Louis Wu 13:06:02 UTC)
August 31, 2007 Link to this post Don't Stop Believing
Jamie98s sent along another music video for your perusal - this one's set to Journey's "Don't Stop Believing", and tells the story of lost, and found, love. Available in both WMP9 format (36.5 mb) and QuickTime format (34.8 mb). (Louis Wu 14:34:54 UTC)
August 27, 2007 Link to this post Night Falls
Jamie98s has released a new music video, set to Strata's Night Falls - it tells the story of mysterious murders on Turf, and a solution to the problem. Great effects. You can download it in WMP9 or Quicktime formats over at GamingTV. Thanks, trigger119. (Louis Wu 12:13:07 UTC)
August 21, 2007 Link to this post kill.switch Jamie98s has put up a lot of machinima over the years. We've got a new one for you - it's a monster. It's called "kill.switch", and it reproduces the plotline (and gets all of its audio from) the Namco Bandai game of the same name. It works very well in the Halo engine, actually. Jamie's description: A war-crazed maniac captures Bishop, a supersoldier. He implants a neurolink in his head that gives control of his body to a third party. Archer (the war-crazed maniac) aims to create wars in every country he can, then sell the supersoldier technology to each country to make billions of dollars. But when an old friend hacks into the neurolink things dont go as planned for Archer. This video is 26 minutes long. You can grab it in WMP9 format (168 mb) or QuickTime format (161 mb) - if you have trouble with the download, let us know and I'll spread the load over more servers. Update: trigger119 has mirrored the WMP9, and self-encoded a QuickTime version using H.264, over at GamingTV. Grab 'em there if you have trouble with our links.

August 4, 2007 Link to this post Somewhere Only We Know
Jamie98s let us know that he's released a music video set to the song 'Somewhere Only We Know' by Keane; it's hosted by Mythica. I can't tell you what it's like - but his work is usually quite good, and it's less than 25 mb. Check it out! (Louis Wu 13:59:44 UTC)
July 27, 2007 Link to this post Fathom (A Taste) On July 16, we put up an odd picture. Two days later, we did it again. (Different picture.) Well, they were both teasers for Fathom, a new Machinima project from some heavy hitters in the machinima community - SodaGod, BlackouTT, Jamie98s, FantasyCubed. You can find a variety of download links in the HaloGrid announce thread. I've also encoded a local QT version, 30 mb, that's not on that page (yet). BlackouTT says this isn't a trailer - but I'm not sure what else you'd call it; it sets up the series. Maybe a prologue? Mysterious, with great filming, great audio, great effects - very well done piece of work. Go watch it. (Louis Wu 14:22:46 UTC)
June 29, 2007 Link to this post Multiverse, in High Res
We'll be posting the full collection of Zune Giveaway finalists in the not-too-distant future... but Jamie98s has released a high-res version of his 'Multiverse' vid over at GamingTV - check it out! (Louis Wu 11:55:38 UTC)
May 22, 2007 Link to this post Halo 2: The Series Episode 5 Jamie98s has released Episode 5 of his machinima project 'Halo 2: The Series' - The Oracle follows the Arbiter's fight through an infested lab and beyond, on his quest for the Heretic. I think Jamie98s has done a great job with the overall atmosphere of the levels; he's captured the suspense and fear very well (in some places, better than the game itself). This segment is 15 minutes long, and weighs in at a bit over 135 mb, in either WMP9 or QuickTime formats - grab a copy and watch! Update: mirrored now at GamingTV.org - thanks, trigger119. (Louis Wu 19:31:54 UTC)
May 19, 2007 Link to this post Oh So Betaful trigger119 pointed out a new movie he's hosting at GamingTV.org - it was created by ClearviewPro, and follows the pattern of Jamie98s' 'Oh So Beautiful' series... except with the Halo 3 Beta. That is - he's collected a bunch of footage of cool tidbits you can find around the new maps - pretty scenery, really detailed props - and set it to a Jack Johnson song. pretty nice! (Maybe the next one will lose the zoom bar on the left...) Go grab it in WMP9 or QuickTime formats. (Louis Wu 21:43:25 UTC)
