Halo Wars Cutscenes - Now Local
For the past three years, HaLo2FrEeEk of The Infectionist has hosted the Halo Wars cutscenes he rendered, and we've simply provided links in our Cutscene Library. However, Morpheus recently noticed that The Infectionist seems to be offline - so we've gone ahead and made the files local. They're beautiful cutscenes; they deserve a place to be downloaded from. Wanna know which SpOps mission has 82 Crawlers?
Heh. A couple of days ago, Morpheus asked for help putting together a document which could help players decide which levels would be useful when trying to complete certain Spartan Ops-based challenges. When he griped today that nobody had responded, TDSpiral pointed out that such a document already exists - it was created by Wes Henry a couple of months ago. Ask, and (often) ye shall receive! Checking Campaign's Evolution
I've got a bit of trouble with the changing aspect ratio, but the content's cool enough. Check out Morpheus' comparison between Halo 4's Campaign, as shown at E3 2012... and the Campaign in the final game. (It's embedded in his post, or you can just watch it directly on YouTube.) I'm Tankful for the Scorpion
We've got a few items to keep you busy throughout the day, but for the most part, we're taking the time to spend with our loved ones, and certainly hope all of you - no matter where you are - can do the same.
- The Halo Bulletin went live last night, and features some hilarious community Thanksgiving-themed photosphops, a feature on the amazing concept artist we all know as "Sparth", and a really great dev interview with the Spartan Ops team. Don't miss it! (It's local, too.)
- Woaf let us know that they now have a brand new episode out for the Dust & Echoes podcast. Check out their fabulous Halo 4 campaign spoilercast! Always a great listen.
- Speaking of podcasts, CruelLEGACEY and yours truly have brought back the Waypoint Modcast, after a bit of a hiatus. Joining us for Episode 31 was Das Kalk and Goosechecka, and we ramble on about all sorts of stuff Halo 4. Tons of fun was had and much editing was needed. Go listen!
- Morpheus let us know about a short feature run by IGN discussing a "What if?" scenario regarding other famous franchises appearing on the newly-released Nintendo WiiU. Go see what they had to say

Morpheus let us know that IGN has run a feature showing some of their favorite game franchises in a then & now-style display. While they certain employ some... curious screenshot placement, it is interesting to see some well-known game franchises shown side-by-side with their original iterations. Go give it a look! Halo 4 Soundtrack Remix Contest
Hypertrooper pointed out a Halo 4 Remix Soundtrack contest - there's an official video from Xbox UK (you can download it off the US Press site, as well - thanks, Morpheus), and a contest website to enter your own remix. You've got until October 29 to submit an entry, and prizes are pretty impressive (grand prize package includes a Samsung laptop, a Halo 4 LE 360, a Tritton Halo 4 headset, and a full collection of Official Halo soundtracks - there are plenty of lesser prizes). Communitage 3
Morpheus dropped in with word of Communitage 3 - a followup to a video released in 2009. Nearly 13 minutes long, and REALLY heavy on the editing (if you enjoy watching the actual gameplay, as opposed to the split-second that a sniper bullet enters a skull, this one's not for you), it's got some great extra effects. Take a look!

A list of good games
IGN decided their last 'Top 25 Xbox 360 Games' list might not stand the test of time, so they revised it. (Looks liked they'd revised it already; if you step through the older version (which is dated 2011 now), you'll see that Reach is the only Halo game on the list, at #5... until you get to the final page, which shows the 2010 list, with Halo Wars at #17, Halo 3: ODST at #13, and Halo 3 at #5.) New list (thanks, Morpheus) puts ODST at #20 and Halo 3 at #13. Whee! (Louis Wu 13:03:07 UTC)

Co-Optimization
Thanks to Morpheus for pointing out a cool Halo mention in Game Informer's most recent issue, dubbed "The Co-op Issue". The Grims being huge fans of co-op play, had a great time reading through it ourselves, with Halo: Combat Evolved taking one of the top spots in their "Best Co-op Experiences" lineup, and Halo 4 getting a nod as a co-op experience to really look forward to.
