That just looks... painful.
Devin Olsen, jealous of the press Hawty McBloggy gets by turning up unique Halo action figures on eBay, has found his own truly bizarre creation - a Custom Halo 3 Hayabusa Spartan... with wrist blades. Yep, you read that right - this guy could take on Wolverine. (Given that his blades are 2-3x as long as Wolverine's, he might even win.) (Louis Wu 20:00:38 UTC)

A Halo CE Roadtrip Redux
Siliconmaster482 has revisited his idea of showcasing the Halo Custom Edition maps created by the community (we mentioned his first attempt about 3 years ago) - he's created a five-minute, high-quality video that shows off a huge number of maps (though really only the middle two and a half minutes contain actual footage). You'll find details and links to downloads and streaming versions in his forum post.

Halo Custom Edition Update
Dennis Powers sent us the September Update for the Halo Custom Edition game Archive - there are 60 new maps and assets, bringing the total up to 3,555 items. Highlights this month include Painball beta, a mountaintop level by halorider, Insomnia, a nighttime map from GAIGHER, and Peril, a mountainside level from Higuy. Check 'em out! Halo Custom Edition Update
Dennis Powers sent word that the Halo Custom Edition Game Archive saw an increase of 136 new maps and assets in August - two you might want to take a closer look at are Midship by CLS_GRUNT and Seclusion by il Duce Primo, Massacre, Dano, and DSalimander. I blew my chance at a Monty Python joke.
Hawty McBloggy has been busy - she's got three new Halo-related things for you to check out. The biggest is her writeup of the Bungie experience at PAX (great pics - and you should page back through her blog for lots more in the last few days), but there are also some gorgeous pictures of a fan-created replica of a Brute Spiker (we were contacted as well, and I hope to have a full gallery soon), and a rather scantily-clad female custom Spartan she found on eBay. She was as busy as I was at PAX, and yet still found time to blog every night about it; I'm thinking of turning HBO over to her. I doubt it's pretty enough, though... (Louis Wu 16:51:33 UTC)

Halo PC 1.08 released
Bungie has released a new update for Halo PC - v1.08 officializes the patches made recently to overcome some potential attacks on HPC servers, and as an added bonus, removes the CD check for the game. Halo CE Map Archive Update
Dennis Powers sent along an update for the Halo Maps website - the Halo Custom Edition Archive now has nearly 3,400 maps assets and files for the game, with 128 files added in July. Buy a Mullins
Okay... this isn't Halo-related, but it's still very cool, and the GUY is Halo-related, so... Craig Mullins has done a TON of Bungie-inspired and Bungie-commissioned artwork, and has built a pretty enormous following in this community. (You can see his Marathon-related work here, and his Halo-related work here.) Latekid noticed that he's selling an oil painting (not videogame-related at all) on eBay right now - no bids yet, 9 days left. I gotta tell you... I have a custom Mullins on my wall, and I love it. New Halo CE goodies
Dennis Powers sent us an update on Halo Custom Edition - if you swing by Halo Maps, you'll find more than 100 new maps and assets added during the month of June. Notable items include Asterisk, Winter Snow, and several maps made by the DMT Clan. If you're into urban warfare, DMT-OD SP4 Upskirts is a total conversion, and DMT-Air lets you play as a Covenant Elite racing to High Charity to land on a Covenant Capital ship. Go check 'em out! Things Bungie should have added
Blackstar, in a fit of creativity, whipped out three new custom medals last night; check them out on his 'Extra Medals' page. (Remember, you can see full-sized versions of the medals simply by mousing over the thumbnails.)
